please keep a note of these things:

1. don't tie your dog until and unless very necessary
2. even if you tie your dog try not to tie it for too long. even we won't like if somebody locks us in a room for too long let alone tie us. they have feelings too
3. Try to tie the chain on the dog's body not on it's neck. Even when you take your dog for walks etc always tie the chain to his body.
4. when you tie your dog, always see that the length of the chain is long enough for the dog so that it can sleep/sit or walk around a bit, comfortably.


P. S. : I never said never tie your dog. Of course you can and you need to under certain circumstances. All I'm saying is that please take care of the above points while doing so 🙏

I have been a dog parent for around 18 years (2 dogs). I can feel that most of the people commenting here have never owned or raised a dog. Based on my experience, I can say that putting a leash or familiarizing them right from their puppyhood is the best thing you could do. I made a mistake with my 1st pup by not putting the leash until he was grown up. And when I put it, it was a nightmare for both of us. My dog was too uncomfortable when I put it for the first time. He barked the life out of him and our neighbors, kept biting the leash, and kept pulling it real bad. Ultimately, I had to keep him off-leash, and as a side effect, I could hardly take him out in public places. You did the right thing. Raising a dog needs a great balance of affection and discipline, and its best to start early.
