My iPhone replacement cycle:

- There's a new iPhone out so no way I buy this now when it's the most expensive.

- The new iPhone has been out long enough to be cheaper now but there will be a new one very soon and then the old model will get even cheaper.

We're almost in 2025 and we still stuck with 60 Hz refresh rate on the 16 and still at least NO 30 to 40 Watt charging speed on any iPhone 16 lineup? This is disappointing

I miss products that warranted a live event in front of an audience.

I used to rush home from work in the early 2000s and watch some blurry mosaic pixels streaming on QuickTime Player over a dial up connection, which kept freezing and you had to restart things to get it working again.. Did he just say that G3 was made of Kevlar and is bullet proof ? Wow !

Now I can watch the “live” pre recorded events in 4K on a 50” TV, and fall asleep in front of the TV. (That may be an age related phenomenon 😃)

However, there’s only so much of Tim cutting to “here’s A.Random to tell us more”. Where, in their usual mono-tonal voice, are always so super excited to be the first to tell us about…. A minor tweak on last years model. 😴

I already decided I didn’t need the 16 based on rumours but the 15 was perfect for me to move from the iPhone 11 as all I wanted was USB-C and the better 48mp camera. Nothing else is of interest to me. I use Fuji X-E4 for most of my photography. So upgrade to iPhone 15 done for me. I’m good now for some years.
Same as my MacBook M3 Pro M3 - I’m good for that for some years

People wants iphones to look different but how? Have you seen samsung s21-24? they are basically the same but different colors. It's impossible to redesign these phones every year. That's just not practical.

My iPhone 12 Pro makes calls and takes photos and that's all i need. I'm not a professional photographer so getting a billion pixels in a photo is not appealing to me. And as far a battery life is concerned, my phone still lasts me the better part of 18 hours, which is enough (i sleep for 8 hours anyway). I don't know a lot of people who stay awake for 33 hours on a regular basis. Maybe I'll upgrade when the iPhone 24 Pro comes out lol. it will have 1 week battery, 32GB of ram, holographic display and a 100GP camera.

The only thing holding back the iPhone 16 is the lack of Pro Motion, . If it had that, I could see a lot of Pro users switching
