Not only can you not edit secured PDFs, you can't even insert them or combine them with other PDFs. I need to insert secured forms into my contracts all the time. THANK YOU for this - the most useful hack of all time! This also works with Safari but you have to drag the secured document into the Address Bar.

Yes, it works to a degree. I used your method on a government secured pdf document that was busy with text, graphics, text boxes, and a variety of fonts. It did not convert accurately. I.e., a considerable amount of text wrongly overlaid other sections of the document. This was my experience. The method described likely works best for pdfs whose content and makeup is less complex.
