People are scared to say anything. They believe the companies will let you go or think you can’t do your job

I think this is wonderful and I wish more companies would consider changing things. Maybe rather than just singling these changes out as for menopausal women, women could try the approach of arguing for universal design, I e. These positive changes in the workplace can benefit everyone. That's really the way we have to do it in Japan because culturally there is a concept of things being done for the group rather than individuals. We do have the option for menstrual leave however, which I was so surprised about when I moved here! Thank you for all you do Ms. Eileen!

Thanks for sharing. At my company most of my senior leaders are men. I had a really bad situation a few months ago brought me to tears so much I had to go to the HR director and bawled my eyes out. I'm a supervisor in a large office a call center. My director just came up with this policy that all supervisory staff must wear construction vest for visibility.
Before he came up with this policy I specifically asked for a desk fan which he approved but I didn't bother to get one because I don't want the extra attention from everyone they might be wondering why I have a fan when everyone else is cold due to the air conditioning in the office. Fast forward a couple months later he insist that I wear the vest or I will be issued a corrective action. Every day I was harassed to the point where he told my manager to tell me that I need to get a doctors note that I cannot wear this vest that itchy and would make me sweat even more.
I asked my manager what should that doctors note state "that I cannot wear clothes"?
I broke down this was so stressful.
I had to go to HR.
They can be so insensitive heartless at times.
I'm will not wear the vest
HR director spoke to my department director she understands my feelings because she went through menapause few years ago.
Just wanted to share.
My job is very stressful.

There's not going to be much help for women in most work places. Just being honest

Women are afraid to lose their job. Especially in under-developed countries.
