@Crazyfogfighter, To continue, we also do NOT have 10 sirens as you say. Most fire apparatus has a mechanical Q siren and a electronic siren with 4-5 different sounds.

@leat270576 those silver rolls you see are side roll and impact air bags they are exclusive to pierce mfg, they activate when the sensors detect a side impact and if the truck rolls past a certain point they activate.

@mrengine9 the german sirens get the attention they need and most cars pull over / give way. Actually german fire engines often could run red lights and pass intersections without almost stopping.
btw.: some very very few german organisations (Fire Departments but also EMS, Police and Federal Agency for Technical Relief) tested or are testing wail/yelp sirens, but it's not common at all

@Crazyfogfighter, Apology accepted. 1) Fire Engines in USA have to meet DOT (Department if Transportation) and NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) Stnadards as far as lighting and audible devices. 2) USA is "built" on woodframe construction, meaning we have an excorbate amount of woodframe and combination of wood and ordinarary construction here. 3) NOT all towns and cities have hydrants for water protection, hence the reason for a larger apparatus.

i hope the netherlands has a god damn good reason to keep their sirens.. because otherwise they should use these, these are much louder and it will scare the driver much more so he will pull over

Awww I've been looking for an LAFD ride along for a long time! Great work, I've watched at least half your vids so far. Just wondering though, Why do German Trucks ONLY have a Hi-lo or is that not the only siren they have.

@301whitehall You are 100% wrong, LAFD does not use PA300, they use the Federal Signal Unitrol Omega siren

@franktonfire Its not a PA300, it a Unitrol Omega

@FirstDue ..

Well said. What works in Europe may not work in the US. Different countries do different things.
