Self-study tips that make learning EFFORTLESS

School taught me about discipline and how to follow rules, but it didn't teach me how to study. When I started university, I couldn't keep up with my studies. My old habits weren't working, so I had to reprogram my study system. In the process, I discovered the benefit of self study. As we go through our education and life, self studying becomes more and more important. Learning how to figure out problems on our own becomes a super power, and it all starts with a few simple steps that I share in this video.

🙏 Thanks for watching!

One of my teachers said that she’s really surprised that I’m getting the grades that I am with my low attendance and that’s literally because I can’t ever focus at school so I end up learning everything at home myself and honestly I find that I understand everything so much better when I do things at my own pace and I actually become more interested in what I’m learning but I used to think I was broken or just dumb because I couldn’t understand anything in lessons so if any one’s going through that too, different things work for different people and it takes a while to figure things out but hang in there! :)

1- no distraction (full engagement).
2-comfortable ambiance.
3-plan (goals).
4-feedback or try to teach other people.

Learning how to learn is really life-changing. Like, for the first time in my life, I felt like I actually learned something in med school lol. Ironically (and unfortunately), I only had the time to learn how to learn when the pandemic hit and we were forced to go home.

I have faced one big problem with Self Studying. In my head I know that I want to and have to do it. However, procrastination gets the best of me and I end up wasting a significant part of the day that would have otherwise been beneficial to me if I productively spent that period of time. I am having struggle developing discipline. Any recommendations or suggestions to help me?

I was trying this kind of method since 2020, I’m in grade 10, I never knew I could learn stuff on my own I stopped depending on Online classes I studied at my own speed it’s the best I can say

I leave my phone zipped up in a pouch deep in my backpack while studying haha too much work to get it out!
Spaced repetitions! Even if it’s just 30 new flash cards per day and keep adding :)
Thank you guys for helping me be a life long learner ! Future LA Nurse 🙏

You have literally just decribed how I felt in class. The first time I attend my class was the worst ever. It felt torture, the time was so slow, everybody was just so distracting. I just felt like I was wasting time, so I was sitting there with guilt. It wasn't such a good learning environment for me. Now I just try to attend online class, just for attendance and just record the whole lecture so I can watch it on 1.75x speed and skip all the boring parts. But I am still being pressured by my classmates to attend class, I try'd explaining it to them, but they just don't understand. And some of them even gets upset if a get a better grade.

I think self awareness and knowing your study and learning methods are important. Everyone is just not the same.

Thank you for this video. I agree with this so much. Sometimes I feel like my time alone is the best time in my studying because it really allows me to digest the information and I can learn without any anxiety of all these other things going on around me (other students understanding material quicker than me for example). Remnote is my best study tool and I love all your videos!!!

- Study environment, most IMP
- ask what do I not know
- self study and discover my style of learning

I am a tora and I can completely relate to everything. I understand the concepts more clearly when I self study them.
And recorded lectures help me to understand better rather than physically going to classes.

- get rid of distractions
- have a comfortable environment
- gather all your recourses
- instead of asking how much do I know, ask what do I not know.
