I'm glad to see people reviewing this turntable. This one is in my top 2 list. I really like the craftsmanship and the reviews are great.

Hi Phil! This was a really great review and I really liked that it was such a thorough review in such a short amount of time. Thanks for helping me pick out my first turntable!

Very good explanation, and demonstration, ReviewedByPhil. I may buy this Fluant RT81turntable, then I'll have 2; I have a Kenwood belt drive from 1987, with a replaced phono cartridge, Stanton 700E, connected to a Rolls P29 pre-amplifier. Since these new turntables have more accurate tonearms, high performance cartridges, and that have a built-in pre-amp, I may use it this way. Thanks for the demo, and advice.

Is there a sound quality difference between a Bluetooth capable record player vs. using a Bluetooth transmitter that plug into a record player like this Fluance that doesn’t have Bluetooth technology? Trying to decide if I should buy a record player that’s already BT enabled, or get a nice record player and just plug in the transmitter when needed. New to this- thank you for the help!!

Looks nice, but I'm not a fan of turntables with built-in preamps. Audio-Technica has ruined the market on built-in preamps as I own one and wished I could afford a better one. I've ripped mine out (AT-LP120) and it has greatly improved the sound. If Fluance made it to totally bypass the preamp when selected then maybe they got it right.

Thanks for the video, man. Liked/subbed. I'm trying to decide between this and the TEAC TN-300. Are you familiar with it?

I`m tired of the " beginners or entry level" jargon that`s all over the place in these turntable reviews. A turntable does not have to cost a thousand dollars on up to be of good quality.

Great review, I am purchasing one of these, If I use its built in pre amp do I Connect the turntable through a Receiver / Amplifier / speakers

Thanks so much for the review. Interested in learning how you hooked up the bookshelf speakers to the player. Can you assist?

Great video. Are you familiar with the Audio Technica-LP120? I'm trying to decide between the two; wondering if the sound quality for the AT is worth the cost difference!

Hi! I'm thinking of getting this turntable to replace a 20 year old Music Hall MM 2.1. I just want to know if there are speed fluctuation problems like some are saying in Amazon?

@ReviewedByPhil I am curious as to how things are for you now that it is well over 1 year later. I ask because some people seem to say that their Fluance RT81 has speed stability issues (slowing down then speeding up of the audio playback). Have you noticed this or any other problems in the time that you have owned this unit?

Can the dust cover be positioned open at multiple angles or only at the one open position as shown? Thank you for your review :)

I currently have an old direct-drive Pioneer PL-518, which I recently got in great working AND cosmetic condition, and it sounds amazing! However, I know the time will come sooner or later, when I either have to pay out the nose to get this nearly 40-year-old vintage TT serviced or simply bite the bullet and break down for a good new direct OR belt-drive TT with a warranty. I have pondered several future options for when that day arrives, including but not limited to a Fluance RT-81. Can anyone here say how the 81 might compare sound-wise with a PL-518, and would it be worth the switch, especially given what it promises to deliver at its price point? Serious answers only, please. Thanks.

Hey Phil, just curious, your ground cable just hooks up to the back of the record player (which is technically the built preamp), not to the speakers right? I'm thinking of ordering this record player but my current speakers don't have a slot to connect a ground cable.
Thanks!

can i just hook these up to powered speakers?/

I guess there is no USB port? It wasn't mentioned in the video. If that is the case it's disappointing since there are other cheaper models that do have USB.

have you tried using an external pre-amp? if so did you notice a difference in sound quality?

I was wondering if you know how thick the rubber mat is? I'm considering purchasing this turntable and would like to upgrade the mat without changing the stylus rake angle.Thanks.
