A quick note on reseting tracking. If starting over make sure to set the ANTI SKATING dial to ZERO before starting and follow the instructions from the beginning after this. I moved my TT and had to redo the steps.

This is without question the best turntable I have ever owned. I was blown away by the quality of all the components. You absolutely cannot beat the price. I was very close to buying the entry level Audio Technica turntable, but quickly changed my mind when I actually saw one in a store. It looked like a cheap piece of plastic. The Fluance turntable is a stylish design with high quality features. Highly recommended.

I am getting one in the mail this week, (RT-81) This is the first time I had a turntable with Anti-skate, weighted arm, etc. This video helped me understand how to set it up simply and effectively so thanks for uploading it to YouTube!

I purchased the RT81 it's an amazing turntable. It's connected to a Pioneer Elite, Schiit Mani phono stage an upgraded cartridge (Golding Electra), Bowers and Wilkins 685 S2 bookshelf speakers and a Polk sub to power the bass. My advice pickup the RT81 for the price value and performance you can't go wrong.

After balancing the tonearm, when moving the counter weight to 2 it's imperative you move it counter clockwise (to the left). Like it says in the instructions. I was moving it clockwise as it was the quickest way to 2. Each time the weight would end being too heavy. You may need to move the counterweight nearly a full cycle to get to 2.

Can you still use a preamp even if your avr reciever has the outputs for phono?

I would recommend the Fluance RT-81 as a starter turntable except for the tone arm. It is very cheaply made. We had ours for close to 2 years and the lock caused a mark on the tone arm because of poor quality plastic they used. Even if you move up to the RT-85 you get the same tone arm! I upgraded to a T Technic SL-1500C-K

Can you use a hi-fi grade Ortofon Concorde cartridge with this turntable?

Ok this is a stupid question, I'm new to turntables etc so I'm sorry if this is such a dumb question but, with the RT81, can you not use the cue lever to use it manually? Thanks!
