Fix for Focusrite audio cutting out/ disconnecting

download the windows 7+8
uninstall all previous focusrite drivers and software
install the downloaded driver
restart pc

additonal note: i used to have crackling and popping on my audio playback but that fixed after i switched from a 4 core to a 6 core processor.

Usually I just reconnect the USB cable, I even replaced the USB cable but problem persists.

The generic hub power settings were on, so i am hoping this fixes it!! Question, what do you guys have for sample rate and buffer?

Unfortunately I bought a Clarett+ 2 Pre and legacy driver is not compatible

I'll be trying this and will report back. I've been going back and forth with Focusrite and they pretend that this isn't an issue for anybody but me and that it must be something wrong with my computer.

So I updated the driver as instructed. Will comment back a week later if it really fixed the problem. Reply to remind me!

I have Scarlet 2i2 4th gen, with a strong sudden static I fixed it by changing buffer rate to 16 However I now suffer with audio cutting out every 30-to an hour of using? Temporary fix for me is just unplugging me but I still get the breaks in audio every hour. My gen 4 doesn’t have old drivers to fall back on…

My fix was going into the focusrite control panel and pulling the output volume down so it isn’t peaking in red. Hope this helps someone
