Focusrite How To Fix Audio Interface | Static, Distortion Headphone Playback, and Microphone

The Focusrite Audio interface needed some tweaking after my purchase. Audio playback was distorted with static, I could only hear audio from my left headphone. My microphone recording would record and play back in my left headphone. Some of my video editing recording apps would freeze as well.

Just switched from Mac to Pc and this issue was driving me nuts. I use an M-Audio 2x2M and this seemed to help the issue on that as well. Thank you!!!

I have an M-Audio M-Track Duo & following your video helped me out. My solution was a little different though. When I was recording or listening back to audio with my interface there was this static sound that ended up in my recordings. I tried everything I could possibly try. I even watched video after video similar to yours. In the end there was a settings called "Voice Focus". No other video mentioned it & I only became aware that it was an option after following your video step by step. So thanks for making this video.

This may sound redundant, but I had this same exact issue with my 2i2 3rd Gen, I tried many of the fixes here but they didn't work
However my solution as dumb as it sounds was:
1.- Uninstall all the drivers, USB Driver, Thunderbolt and Control with Revo uninstaller (it's a free software)
2.- While uninstalling I made a restore point just in case
3.- Revo uninstaller asks you to analyze any leftover data from the drivers, select them all and delete them
4.- Reinstall Focusrite Control and do a reboot
5.- Plug the interface back IN A DIFFERENT USB PORT.
6.- Make sure your buffer sizes and Hz rates are the same as this video

I honestly have no idea why this worked, but i haven't had any issue so far. My guess is that the latest Windows updates have messed with the drivers or USB ports and thus creating this issue, Focusrite blames Windows, Windows blames Focusrite... so I hope this works for you

THANK YOU!!! I thought I broke my headphones, so I went out and bought a new $120 pair. Tried those out, still didn't work, so then I immediately realized it was the interface the entire time. So glad I kept my receipt, I'm going back to Guitar Center tomorrow lol. Thanks man!!

for ANYONE whose searching and found nothing else to help. after an hour of throwing a fit i found that at 1:32 where you see the device settings, i cranked the sample rate all the way up and turned off safe mode and was met with crystal clear audio as if i was standing at heavens gate
