How to Play Burned PS1 backups on PS2, with FMCB and No Modchip

I thought I'd do a quick follow up to my last video in response to a question in the comments, about how to run ps1 backups. if you have all the same things as that video you don't even need to use cogswap, FMCB and ulaunchelf or wlaunchelf, are enough. You also need to block the tray opening sensors on a slim (you can find tutorials on youtube), or a slide tool for a fat ps2. finally you need an original game, but it can be any game it just needs to pass the region check.

In case reading is easier:
Start the Ps2 with the original ps1 disc in
Back out of the browser window and open ulaunchelf
Change to the backup disc without triggering the open tray sensors
In ulaunchelf go to File Manager - Misc - PS2Disc

Tested this on my PS2 slim 70003. Works just like in the video.
I really with however, that there was a way for LaunchElf to just inject a PS1 payload with a button press (so no need for am OG PS1 disc) and you could just load a backup disc in right away.

Dope. Now I can play Silent Hill with the original voice acting on original hardware without paying 42 billion dollars.

Just tested with my slim that was having issues with ESR patched ps2 games. Worked right off the bat.

How do I stop my ps2 from auto booting the game? Can I put my ps1 game in later at the ulaunchelf menu?

This method stopped working for me. When I click PS2Disc the disc inside just starts spinning out of control and never boots into the PS1 game

EDIT: It's not the disc, I have to burn em at max speed for them to work, they work on the PS3 but I cannot get them to load on my 39001, it must be system specific, I've tried a few different ways and nothing works.

I have a 39001 and it gets to the Playstation logo and it just sits there.

My lowest option was 16x but it didnt burn correctly but still went to the PlayStation logo, then I reburned with max speed and still only gets to the logo. Not sure if its the burn or the PS2

[SOLVED] I'm using a silver slim scph-79001. For some reason my legit disc auto boots anyway everytime. Doesn't matter if I have freemcboot memory card in slot 1 or 2. Alternatively If I put a disc in while in browser, wait for it to recognise, and then back out and go into ulaunchelf the disc never stops spinning. EDIT SOLVED: I had to change fast boot to off in freemcboot config and then in ulaunchelf change disc control to on.

Hello, what do I need to press to launch FMB and enter the browser, because whenever I lift the cover the disk stops spinning? Thanks in advance!

- How do you do this with PS2 Original?
- For PS2 backups, do you do the same thing but with PS2 original and backup discs?
