I do it when I’m not having any acne flare ups. It still doesn’t change the fact that acne prone skin is more sensitive. I always break out especially gaining textured skin and redness.

I do this once a month. I don’t know much about skin care but I think that those razors may not be the best (I’m glad she’s disinfected it first tho) what I use are barber shop razors with single use blades and aloe Vera to shave (still disinfect the actual tool everytime though) I have never gotten a breakout from this method and I have been doing this for about 2 years. :)

Just a warning ladies. I did this. First time rashes. 2nd time - fine. 3rd time- i broke out bad when the hairs came back 😢. This is whats happening NOW! Like so bad. I never have pimples anywhere but my chin. My forehead is covered in what looks like SORES 😢😢😢😢. I have naturally wavy hair and ingrows may be the issue. But considered facial hairs are thin and white- dont think thats the case.

Just be careful and understand if this happens to you- you’re not alone and its clearly an issue with others

I tried this after being influenced by the trend and influencers, and the result was disastrous. I did not know that I had flat warts on my face, it was only one, and after I shaved my face, it spread all over my face, and I had to take intense doses of accutane and cold ironing treatments.please guys be careful and check first with your doctor if it’s ok to shave

please don't put the serum dropper directly onto your skin! especially over acne, that bacteria will just go back into the bottle 😥

you may want to use regular man's razor, use the one with 2 blade so your skin doesn't get over exfoliated. Normal razor already shaped in the right angle so it lower the chance to cut your face

For those with active acne! Do not shave over it! It will spread bacteria to the rest of your face!

I have combo acne prone skin. I used to derma plane dry, but it used to break me out after (even with clear skin)

I started to double cleanser before and then use my oil cleanser to shave, and then followed up with washing after again (to remove any leftover skin or hair that was on) and it makes such a difference. I follow up with a really calming make, and hypochlorous spray.

I’ve been doing this every other week now and I’m so happy with the results! It’s been about 6 months now.

Esthi here! It is not advisable to dermaplane or shave over active acne because it can cause inflammation and it can spread bacteria to other areas of the skin that are now susceptible to breakout because they’ve had the hair and dead skin removed. Everyone is different so If you decide to do this I would recommend making absolutely sure you are only using your blade ONCE even if just on yourself. They need to be replaced every time. Also if you choose to shave over active acne, do your whole face and then the inflamed area LAST so you don’t spread anything around. You can also do a very low level BHA chemical exfoliant immediately following for 1/4 of the normal time to help remove any bacteria that may have moved elsewhere on the face and cleanse again after. Additionally when anchoring the face, you have to move your anchor point as you go. Anchoring at the temple while you’re shaving down by your mouth, lower cheek, or chin will not give you proper leverage and can lead to cutting yourself. Be careful, Godspeed, shave on!

The way she went over the pimple with the blade like nothing had me SHOOK. I just know if she accidentally cut her skin then it would be painful and bleeding really bad. I would have been shaking if I was going over my acne like that…
