Workshop Organization | Turning Tool Organizer - 'The Chisel Swivel'

In this video I make a carousel to hold my turning tools. It was named "the chisel swivel" by my daughter in law. My turning tools were on a shelf, stacked up every which way and finding the tool I wanted was always an issue. This carousel has eliminated that problem and has made my space look great and is much more efficient. I give some measurements in this video but everyone's would need to be customized for the space they have and the number and size of tools they use. Customization is very easy and I think the method in this video is an effective way to make this project. I hope you enjoy the video, thank you to all who watch!

I made a new rack for my expanding collection of chisels just yesterday. I wish I’d thought of using my oscillating spindle sander! 🌞

First...it does look quite nice and organized and I hope it works out for you as planned. Perhaps revisit this video in a month or two to let everyone know what worked well versus what, if anything, you'd change. Speaking solely for myself...I prefer to have my tool edges facing downward so that I'm grabbing a handle and never 'across' a razor edge. In the end it's what works best for each of us...good for you.

Great vid. I had an idea for a similar carousel, but I think I may recess in a small rare-earth magnet in each of the notches, to keep the chisels from rattling around or falling when they get bumped.
