Allah said:
{وَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّىٰ يَتَبَيَّنَ لَكُمُ الْخَيْطُ الْأَبْيَضُ مِنَ الْخَيْطِ الْأَسْوَدِ مِنَ الْفَجْرِ ۖ ثُمَّ أَتِمُّوا الصِّيَامَ إِلَى اللَّيْلِ ۚ } سورة البقرة verse 187
The hadith you mentioned doesn't go with the verse I just mentioned so please follow the word of Allah.

Actually, at the time of the prophet ﷺ, there was 2 Athan at Ramadan. This Hadith is about The 1st one who warn people that it’s almost the time for Fajr (~1/4h).
The majority of the savant tell that if you have something in mouth and the you hear Athan, you mustn’t swallow it but throw it or your siyam will be invalid.
Anyway take the security option and don’t eat/drink if you have something in hand while it’s time to Fajr !

Otherwise some people will just hold the bottle in there hand before Athan !

Assalamou Aleykoum, so, at the Prophet's ( SAW ) times, there was 2 Adhans : 1 to wake up people and the second when it's time to pray, and the Prophet ( SAW ) said: "If you hear the Adhan and still have a vessel in your hand then you should not put it down until you finished it." But, he was talking about the first Adhan which is to wake up people, and nowadays we get the Adhan to pray, not the one to wake up people, ( I mean for most of people not everyone ). And between the 1st and 2nd Adhan theres like 5-15 mins so when its Fajr you immediatly gotta stop drinking/eating, but if you have the Adhan to wake up people you can still drink, just don't when its time to pray. Wassalamu Aleykoum Wa Rahmatoulahi Wa Barakatouh.

Assalumu Alaykum everyone,
There's a little misconception here: Up to my knowledge, at the the time of the Prophet, they used to do an athan before the original Fajr athan (which we now call imsak) to let everyone know that Fajr is gonna come in a bit. And the Prophet meant this Hadith about the first athan and not the actual Fajr athan.

The hadith actually explains the frst adhan During the time of the Prophet SAW, there were two times adhan .. the first for sahur and the second for salah fajr... And the hadith in the video is for the first adhan

in Qur'an dan hadits, We are not allowed to eat and drink when it is fajr / subuh time..

Hadith Narrated by Muslim; The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Bilal proclaims Adhan [call to Salat (prayer)] at the end of night, so eat and drink till Ibn Umm Maktum pronounces Adhan (Fajar). My Muslim brothers and Sisters please don't eat or drink anything after you hear the Fajr Adhan. Allah knows the best

Al Salaam Alaykum,

Please be careful with this. As soon as the Athan for Fajr is called, that means that your fast has begun. Finishing the vessel in your hand will nullify your fast at that point. If you are in a place where the Sunnah of Athanul Tanbih is still practiced (an Athan that is sometime before the actual Fajr prayer) then that is a different matter In Shaa' Allah. Please seek the advice of a scholar.

Assalamualaikum wa rehmatullahi wa barakatuhu
This hadith in Abu Dawood -2350, comes immediately after hadiths regarding the time of suhoor, which establishes that if the time of fakr has not yet started and the adhaan is given, you may eat which is generally not the case today.

As soon as the time of Fajr starts, one has to stop eating, if there is something in his/her mouth he/she has to spit it out.
