Today is my birthday, and I've been reflecting on the past year of my life. My son was born just over a year ago, and I've learned a tremendous amount about myself and life in general from the experience, which I'd like to share. (Also, stick around to the end, because... there's something kinda exciting to announce.)

The first day back from the hospital, our little guy slept in between us on our bed. We didn't sleep a wink. I was 23 and my wife was 21. He's now 25 in law school. He and his brother who's 23 are the best things I've ever done. It never gets old. The milestones continue no matter their age and I love it.

Your son is just a few months older than mine and I have to agree with you, it's the greatest thing I've ever done in my entire life. Happy Birthday!

I’ve got two, 13 and 10. They have been life changing, and definitely for the better. As they’ve grown up, I’ve had some of the best experiences playing games with them, coaching their various sports teams, watching them perform music, it has 100% been worth it. The best piece of advice is to sacrifice your personal gratification to make their lives that much better. Spend time with them. Remember, they’ll be choosing your nursing home😂 Wonderful news that you’re expecting again! Two are always better than one! Enjoy everything you do, have done, and will continue to do for the channel. But like always, keep your family and your sanity first. Your cultists aren’t going anywhere.

Happy birthday and congratulations Pravus. From a father of two to a soon to be father of two, The second one second one is a 180⁰ from the first. My first born calm, nerdy, not into sports at all. His sister is a feral goblin monkey child, who loves cheerleading. You are and will continue to be a great dad.

I have two boys, 14 and 10. They make life interesting, to say the least. But they are my world, and my life would be poorer without them. Congratulations, Pravus and Mrs. Pravus. You sound like you guys are doing alright. 😊

Thank you for sharing. I'm 32 with 3 kids 1, 3, 5 and they are the center of my world. Almost brought a tear to my eye with your words.

Happy Birthday! and congratulations on a second bundle of joy. I have two boys myself, 24 and 18. They are a burden only if you look at it that way. I find more pleasure in their company than many of my old friends. I also taught them how to game and play video games, so we all Mom, Dad, and boys play together.

You'll probably not know just how much this means to others, but i'm beyond happy that you shared it. My wife and i have lost 2 kids very early on in pregnancy and are currently sorting our options, but the latest loss occurred last Friday. I've always wanted to ba a father, so living a bit vicariously through you in this post. Love this and please keep doing awesome stuff. Love your vids.

Congratulation Pravus and Ainyaly, and many happy returns for your birthday Pravus.
I have enjoyed your content for a few years now and one reason is the down to earth and honest person you are in the videos. That honesty and truthfulness really shines forth in this video it makes me so happy to have subbed and followed you. I am an uncle to a niece and nephew, and through various family dynamics I was their father figure in helping them grow up from birth to a 26 year old nephew and an 18 year old niece, and all you said about the hard work and joys of having a child is so true even though I was not their 'father'.
I am really pleased for you in growing your dynasty and can feel how much of a great parent you are and will continue to be. xxx

Just an fyi, you NEVER actually get the same sleep ever again. Mine are over 20 and they still bust in my room and wake me up... yeah I don't know what sleep I use to get before kids, it's a long forgotten memory lol. And congrats on the 2nd coming of Pravus Jr. #2!!!

Can’t wait for Pravus to team up with Paradox and make a city building game about making a nursery for your baby.

My mom was the same way. I was an accident child so she was both excited but absolutely terrified as this was not remotely planned. Of course, I didn't make it easy: I was premature due to my heart rate tanking (so it was either C-section or lose me) and had to go to the ER at 8mo as I had a fever that could have killed me. She had absolutely no regrets though as I turned out a lot like her and got to teach her stuff too. Not to mention having 2 kids close in age made things much easier.

Edit: you touched on marriage well. Watching my mom, it is all compromise and not just pure bliss. Stuff will happen, you will bicker but what matters is how it is handled together. Just because you love a person doesn't mean it will be sunshine and rainbows.

Praise God, an heir and a spare!!! (but truly, congrats to you and your wife. This is great to see YouTubers whom I've followed for years adopt the joyous responsibility of children)

I have recently stumbled on a video discussing The Giving Tree and the implication of that story. The good, the bad but also one of the central themes the youtuber considered important to the story. And that was that unconditionally giving CAN be fulfilling and bring happiness. It should not be the goal to run yourself ragged to give everything but the act of giving itself can be/is fulfilling.

Congratulations Pravus on the new baby, the last 15 months and on your birthday. As a father of five children (last one is a sophomore in High School) I understand and concur with what you have said. Just wanted to say that you can teach your son sign language (simple stuff) and they can use it to communicate. It worked with my kids and helps reduce their frustration when they can tell you that they want 'more' of something to eat or a 'cookie' and not a 'banana' (or my personal favorite, when they sign "sorry" after farting). As to the new baby, you would be surprised how exited toddlers are about baby siblings.

Congratulations!! I've only ever cared for young cousins (infancy to early childhood) and there will be many curveballs to come, but I know from how ecstatic about being a dad you have been so far, baby number 2 will be a blast as well.

I'm one of those people who loves kids but doesn't plan on ever having kids of my own--definitely more of a respite carer for kids of family and friends. Still, I look forward to it!
