Brian Thompson's family releases statement on shooting death of UnitedHealthcare CEO

Thompson was shot and killed in New York City on Wednesday morning in what NYPD is calling a "brazen" and "targeted" attack.

My son died of cancer b/c he was denied treatment, Treated him for no iron in blood for over a yr... when a simple CT SCAN would have told the truth 1 yrs later, died of stage 4 kidney cancer. He was only 49, ... KARMA ? I don't care about his family, They didn't care about mine!...

United Healthcare denied my colonoscopy. I appealed, denied, I appealed 2nd time denied so went to the state department of health, they got a lawyer involved and they (UHC), "reassessed" my 2nd appeal and approved it. It took me going to my State's Dept. of Health, and luckily they thought I had a good enough case against them. I don't think this man was the CEO as it was 10 years ago but if I wasn't vigilante and educated to be able to fight for myself, I would have been screwed with $5000, 10 years ago, of debt when in Europe it cost out of pocket $800, 2 years ago. After insurance deductions, negotiated costs, that price ended up being closer to $2, 000 and I owed $600. I suspect someone that was denied coverage and now dying of cancer or something like that. I switch from United Healthcare the next year. Luckily I was able to switch.

A health insurance CEO making $23 million on his way to investor meeting. Are we supposed to feel sorry for this guy? His company just dropped my plan. Maybe his family will be confronted by the impact of this guy's actions as a CEO.... Glad he had millions to support his being a great guy..m
