The Perfect Everyday Watch: Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic

I purchased this watch H70555533 from Amazon for 360 bucks a bought a month ago.When I received it I noticed the movement didn't quite look right .There was no labelling of the 2428-2 movement on the back of the case or the rotor as would be expected.Also there was an H cutout and aerodynamic cut outs on the rotor.As you can imagine I freaked out thinking I got a replica.After further research I discovered that a lot of Hamiltons in this price range were upgraded to the H10 movement which beats at 21600 Vph rather than the 28800 Vph of the 2428 movement.So be forewarned if your looking for the smoother movement of the 2428 you probably won't get it as all the descriptions on Amazon label it as having the 2428 .The advantage of the H10 is it has an 80 hr power reserve.I actually like the H10 better.Just thought I would warn people in case they really, really wanted the eta 2428-2.

I was set to get this watch until I saw the Seiko Alpinist, which was cheaper and more what I was looking for. But I really like the khaki too. Only minor gripe is the 15 looks out of place on the dial. Seems like a great watch for just about anyone.

I have the khaki king day/date version of this watch I found on ebay for about $300 under retail. It is a very reliable watch. Not necessarily a beater, but it is an every day wear for most situations without having to worry much about it. With the new H calibre eta movements the power reserve is fantastic and when I tested mine I got just under 80 hours power reserve with 79 hours and change. I prefer the higher VPH movements but the massive power reserve is a good trade off since I tend to use this as my work watch and that means I can leave it even over a 3 day weekend and not have to worry about it stopping.

I like Hamilton as a brand. I have 1 Hamilton in my collection and use it as my dress watch. I've always liked the Khaki Field Automatic too.

great review EDC.. but.... Everyone always seems to be reviewing the Khaki Field or the Khaki King... I'd love to see someone review one of the rarer colors of the Khaki Frogman with rubber strap....

Great channel. I have to ask where your friend got the watch from. The gold writing on the rotor weight and the 100m WR on the caseback are similar to many replicas going around. Also can't see a "330" below the 30 second pip. Do the 1-12 numerals have lume?

I have had two of these a both proved to be unreliable. I really love the look of the watch just wish I hadn't lost faith in them.
