There have been many tests debunking this. It''s actually better off for overall ssd temps, but to each their own. If you're worried about a little dust buildup, just make sure to clean it regularly.

Its a trade off. Dust for better performance. Nvme's will thermal throttle so the extra air flow would help. This is just a difference of opinion.

It really doesn't matter, as long as you clean your ps5 periodically. I'm sure it's safe to assume, that if someone is doing this upgrade, they are going to keep it clean.
