Companies don't reward hard work anymore. There is no loyalty. They opt to replace competence with new employees who will take less pay.

Lazy and inept people make for a bad work environment and cause a heavier work load for others who care about their craft. It is all about having integrity. That being said, you should get compensated for the value you bring to the company. It is a balance.

I used to be like the older millennials. Now... fuck it, I'm just efficient at what is necessary but only go above and beyond for my personal projects.

It's good to have a good work ethic but it gets to a certain point

Lol as a millennial I can honestly say a lot of millennials are just lazy too. I have my own vehicle have been living on my own since I was 18 have owned a house for years and even with my two kids I'm in the middle class all without an education beyond the GED. Some jobs suck and don't pay well but that's the beauty of a free market you can leave. Companies don't owe you more than what you yourself agreed to.

Look I understand 95% of companies are total garbage, but don’t shit on having a good work ethic. Start something yourself, be better, rise above. Work is the reason we have anything at all.

This attitude is detrimental to your mental health.

Boomers are some of the happiest people. Always have been. Don't forget that the hippies were boomers and they were the authors of the care free life. Eventually, however, they discovered that driving around in cool vans smoking pot doesn't pay the bills so they got jobs.

Millenials were sold a pack of lies and are still struggling. Gen z will learn the same lessons as the boomers and my generation, the X'ers, if something needs to get done, we just do it without all the bitchin and complaining. If you want to get under our skin, ask us for help then walk away expecting us to do it for you. Not gonna happen.

Yes it's harder to work than last generation. Yes it could be worse too

it actually is better to be a good gard worker. As one myself, I've have multiple supervisors/ managers confide in me how bad they don't like the lazy ones and won't stick up for them to get them outta trouble in hopes they get themselves fired. Me on the other hand, if I mess up management looks out for me 🤷‍♂️ granted I don't mess up much but I see the difference in treatment 😄 just set boundaries and they won't push you to far. Simple

This is why social security shouldn't exist.

Maybe you’d get laid off even if you work hard, but you’ll definitely get laid off with this attitude. Be selective of who you work for.

Easy, I don't care what you do, you get what you put in. Little effort, equals little return.
