Could’ve just poured sugar on the pan and called it dust, or if you’re trying to be clever you could ask Alex what his favorite soda is and then boil a can’s worthy in a sauce pan until the water content boils away, test the flavor, he might like it. For healthy delicious dust use dry rub steak seasoning on a steak and pan sear it, use a bit of butter later on and once done you get a nice steak, and if you scrape off bits of the seared steak and take bits of seasoning off the pan and all you’ll get a dry set of dust/crumbs of herbs, spices, and bits of delicious beef, all with the benefit of added fat content for all kinds of health bonuses. That last one would be most difficult but would be good for any pallet that isn’t built on extreme and unhealthy sugar intake.
