Welcome to Week Four of the Spring Cleaning Spree 2024! This week we are going to be starting in our living room by dusting all the spaces that we may not touch-up in our weekly cleaning schedule. My wife has what we lovingly call her “knick-knack” wall, which is a large set of bookcases in our living room. It’s filled with books, art work, plants, and of course, knick knacks! While we may take a Swiffer duster to it regularly, this is a great time to take all the items off and dry and wet dust the empty bare shelves. I love the Damp Duster from Scrub Daddy for this job, because all it takes is a bit of water to get the shelving looking great. Once it gets filled with dust, all it needs is a bit of a rinse to be ready to use again. I also took the day to clean my light fixtures and fans that are in hard to reach places. By cleaning them on the same day as dusting, I don’t have to worry about any of that dirt settling on the shelving I just cleaned. Do you have a knick-knack wall you’re cleaning today?

Thank you for advocating the use of using plain, ordinary water for dusting instead of chemicals.

I love my scrub daddy duster so much! None of the dust goes into the air. It’s also very satisfying seeing all of the dust just rinse off of the sponge that like 😌

Washable filters need to be a thing. Four changes a year is a lot of waste.

Dusty fan hack: use an old pillow case wrapping it around each blade and swipe using hands, from center outward. It keeps all those dust bunnies from free falling over the furniture and floor. Simply shake out (outside preferably) throw in washer. Happy cleaning!

Love this and all your cleaning videos! Here in the South, I recommend changing A/C filters monthly to prevent ‘that dusty smell’, as well as to cut down on the dust itself.. it’s my absolute best tip to keeping dust to a minimum ☺️ thanks again for your spring cleaning videos and annual playlists!

Tip: Take everything off the object you’re dusting before you dust.

I change my furnace filter on or around the first day of every season, winter spring summer fall. Such an easy way to remember to do it.

I've been dusting using my vacuum attachment for over 60 years! From top to bottom, of course! 😊

This reminds me, I need to change my filter! I lived 5 years in a roommate's house, and then borrowed someone's trailer while the onwer temporarily lived out of state, so it became out of habit for me to think about filters.
Two months ago, a neighbor of mine blessed me an extra filter she had without my asking for it.
So, for me to look at the measurements and see if there are filters to help with allergens.

I really just found out about 2 weeks ago that using plain water on my kitchen appliances & dusty floors actually cleans better with a more lasting effect then cleaners I know some may not feel your getting things really clean that way so if u must use cleaners make sure it’s a drop of really mild soap but rinse really well with fresh water & watch the difference thank me later😌

Filter changes 4x a year is a minimum. If you have a flat panel filter, you should change it every 30 days, especially if you live somewhere dusty like the American Southwest. Please note, if you don't regularly change your filter, you run the risk of it getting so clogged that it gets sucked into your furnace and can cause major damage.

I have been soo tempted to try the scrub daddy duster! I will have to get a couple for work and home! I started dusting my walls in between washing them and I have noticed a lot less dust now! I use the scented gain swifter dusters on the walls and it makes the place so much fresher.

As an asthma, sufferer I would definitely change the furnace filter once a month. It makes a huge difference and buy a good filter. The cheap ones don't do it. It is a shame. It's above 15 bucks a month but cuts down the dust.

Gonna send this to my bf because for some reason he likes to vacuum and mop first before dusting 😤😤

I hear extra vacuuming can also really help if you have a particularly dusty house

A good one for the future would be for people with pets.

Thanks for another inspiring video 😊 I'm quite intrigued by the duster, will have to try it. Your top-to-bottom tip is valuable info when cleaning, as is working from clean to dirty areas rather than vice versa. Dust here, with 8 dogs, and right now the pollen, is a constant issue, so today's tips were especially helpful
