More than a year later Microsoft’s fixed nothing 😊

It appears this isn't the only issue that brings up memory leaks. It appears to occur with the start menu, Task View, and Search as well, since they're integrated into file explorer (Yes, even the action center, Wifi panel, Night Light and notification center flyouts). It also appears this issue was not fixed in RTM and Microsoft apparently doesn't know enough about this or is just too lazy to fix it.

This being said, my system came preloaded with Windows 10, but was forcefully upgraded to 11 through a Windows Update. Windows is officially becoming unusable even with the most powerful hardware (thanks Microsoft).

Open "Task Manager", then Right-click on "Windows Explorer" and select "Restart" from the drop-down menu!

Anyone reading this the quickest fixes are disabling all startup apps and I would definitely install Wise Memory Optimizer and have it run every now and then while working.

wow what a high cpu usage over 30% and nothing runs. Hope this get fixed soon too i have in win 10 around 3-8% cpu usage at idle when nothing runs only my browser. Hope microsoft fixes asap the memory leak, the cpu usage and some other flaws. In some way win 11 is a step back and in so other a improvement.

just found this and can say this still happens. i just realized that my idle memory out of 16 gigs is 7.4 gigs and not sure why. my first time using windows 11 and i already hate it.

On my device is more annoying it's using cpu when i only move my mouse idk why its linked whats the matter my cursor and windows explorer if i move my mouse more faster it getting cpu usage more, now i can't use my pc for gaming cause of this :/ tryin to reseting my pc but it didn't do anything tryin to go back to windows 10 but the back up already gone. :((( Someone help

I have a low end pc and i am facing this problem, windows explorer is 85 MB and DWM is 70 MB while i am not doing anything

This bug is used on explorer in past for installing trojans tough net, as filling the computer memory blocks pc and probably lets some programs execute unauthorised scripts as root, im not sure but they do it somehow using this problem ;p
