MacBook Butterfly Keyboard Repair, Single Key

For a few malfunctioning keys it makes sense to repair each key instead of replacing the whole keyboard. In this video I show you how to replace just a key cap as well as how to replace the whole butterfly mechanism with the dome switch.

If you have a device that needs repair bring it in or mail it in.

I've always liked to watch you on Rossmann's channel. You are really good at explaining things.
As to keyboard LED's, I would think that the individual LED's, while more expensive, should consume less power than the old way because there is much less light spill to unintended areas, so if the total keyboard luminosity stayed the same then the efficiency should have gone up. I'd guess that the way it's implemented, each LED in the new keyboard gets much less power in than each LED in the older models.

good video! any tips on lifting out a key cap that's not broken? the metal grid seems to be in the way.

That keyobard seems to have a couple of key caps that were in need for replacement

Have you found the best adhesive for replacing a key dome? I’ve used super glue with mixed results. I’m wondering if there is a double sided tape that might be better? I might have to replace the down arrow key on a butterfly keyboard. Haven’t done one before, do you have any closeup videos of doing it? I’ve done many regular keys, N seems to be the most common failure!

700$ for a screen ? it is crazy, I think that the hole MacBook is cost something similar of not less ? Specially those last T2 intel MacBook's, I think all of them are potential future door stoppers.

Not sure if CA glue is right for that, try LOCA. If clear part is acrylic, there's a good chance that it'll work nicely. Btw. no pwr or gnd on key contacts, but matrix that KBC scans.
