How long will it take me to learn Salsa?

It all depends on your goals. If you want to learn the basic to be able to dance in Cuba, 1 or 2 sessions are enough. If you want to push it further and want to go out dancing in clubs 1 to 3 sessions. If you want to perform on stage, 1 year and more!!! But one thing is for sure, after the first class you will be able to dance salsa!!!!

So I’m very overweight (obese) and am a bit worried on general treatment. I’ve heard and looked up a ton of stories where people mention being treated poorly by their dance instructors due to them being overweight. I’m looking forward to starting (I am going to the gym eating healthy etc so working on it lol) but I want to enjoy my time with this hobby. Does anyone have any input/stories or advice?? I’d greatly appreciate it!
