Want to build a strong neck? Here are two neck exercises you can do without specialized neck-training machines.

1. The Plate Neck Crunch

This hits the anterior musculature in the neck. Do 3 sets of 12-15 reps.

2. The Banded Push-Away

This creates the proper tension and resistance to target the posterior musculature of the neck effectively. Do 3 sets of 12-15 reps. – Tanner Shuck

For the general gym rat, DO NOT START WITH A PLATE AS BIG AS THIS GUY IS USING. A 2.5 kg plate to start with for reps is plenty enough if you haven't trained neck before.

What I do is go lay down at the edge of my bed, put my head all the way down, and move my head up and down. I’ve done that for 3 days and I already see some improvement

I mean, it's not really about looks or anything, it's just nice to know I have strength in places people typically don't, meaning if anything happens, I'd be more likely to bounce back from it.

the resistance band neck exercise is really smart, thank you, I use just bands for my strength and conditioning and gained 7 kgs of muscle in 4 months

Work up to 4x25 with your bodyweight only before touching a plate then go to 5lbs plz everyone who watches this

Make sure you start without weight and get used to the motions first. Then slowly add weight. The band exercise was interesting 💪

Just to add my two cents, my gym doesn’t have towels so I just used a medicine ball instead of a plate. Equally as comfortable, equally as hard.
