Wild guess, gonna say the spirit of Raava doesn’t plan to get frozen inside an iceberg with a bison for a century. She had things to do, people to see, and a schedule she was banking on. So what if things had gone a little more conventional for Avatar Aang. Skip the one hundred year nap and straight to business. Unless he plans on sticking around for Kyoshi lengths of time, the next Avatar won’t be Korra. Turns out, there's a good amount of evidence indicating that it could have been Princess Yue. Our favourite girlfriend turned moon spirit was in line to inherit an immense amount of power and responsibility. Considering how she dealt with the death of the moon, it seemed like she was pretty capable of handling such a thing.
So how would it go for her? Would she have the same team avatar? Who were her elemental masters? We are gonna dig astound in the cabbage cart and see what falls out. Alternate history of the avatar world is here. And it’s not all great. Could Yue’s avatar hood prevent key characters from arising later on? Would we have seen the end to part of the elemental cycle? With yue being the avatar. Katara was captured by the fire nation and kept in prison, where she grow and begin creating, learning and mastering bloodbending. After Katara was managed to escaped, she met Avatar Yue a poorly trained waterbending avatar how don't know to use waterbending other than to heal people. Katara became yue's second waterbending teacher and yue helped Katara to not basically turned to Hama.

This is a hundred percent true because first off if aaang never left yue would in fact be the avatar as she was born spiritless because of the fact that aang left and he never died meaning yue never had her avatar spirit so she was automatically supposed to be the avatar.

Imagine Zuko in this universe continually searching for the avatar to gain his honor. He would be chasing after Yue.
The fire nation prince going after the water tribe princess. Then Zuko goes through his changes and eventually falls in love with Yue. That would be so romantic!!

Since her grandfather is part of the lotas, Yue would have had a much much easier time finding and learning the elements especially given that their kingdom is very well guarded. So her being an avatar would also be kept a tight lipped secret to all outsiders!

Not to mention having the moon and ocean spirits RIGHT THERE as back up. Like talk about OP

Who do you think would have taught Avatar Princess Yue Air and Earth Bending since she could learn Water bending in her homeland and Zuko could possibly teach her Fire Bending after those two become allies?

Another thing that might have been different if anng didn't run away metal bending may not be a thing because toph wouldn't have gone with aang thus meaning the mercs were never hired to capture toph and bring her back home

I wouldn't know if that would happen because there was already an avatar born in the northern water tribe. The next avatar would've been in the southern water tribe.

I love this theory so much. Though if yue didn’t have Toph as a teacher, Toph would have never created metalbending

So if the avatar-to-be requiers Raava to live, why didn't Korra die when Raava was ripped out of her?
Also, if the avatars are pre-determined, Kyoshi, living to be 230, would knock the whole thing out of order.

It's a fun theory to think about but there's too much that debunks it. Assuming Aang never froze himself in the iceberg, he probably still would've been alive when Yue was born, since avatars have extended lives and even with some of his life energy drained he lived to be 166 (technically). Yue was born in 84AG so that means Aang only would've been in his 70s. Also, if the next avatar was predetermined to be Yue, then what would have happened if Aang didn't run away and died with the other air nomads? Would there just have not been an avatar for almost 100 years?
