What are some of the signs and symptoms of burnout?

Показать описание
Burnout symptoms: fatigue, exhaustion, and irritability are warning signs you shouldn't ignore. Signs of burnout easily slip into everyday life as fatigue, exhaustion, and irritation. At first, you might think that if you just sleep more or take care of the bills or fix that one nagging problem, these symptoms will go away - but after weeks, months, or years pass by and you still feel the same, you may begin to wonder why just getting out of bed in the morning has become so hard.
You might be hard on yourself for becoming lazy or weak - but these self-accusations are not the answer! Burnout is caused by continuous physical, mental, and emotional pressure and can happen to anyone. There are unwanted stigmas of low self-worth and strength attached to it, but these are wrong as well.
Symptoms of burnout include (not limited to): changes in appetite, critical and negative mindset, withdrawal / not wanting to be present, social and relational isolation, inability to relax, feeling unappreciated, resentment towards friends and family, sarcastic and hostile outlook, and an overall sense of cynicism.
Living with burnout hurts. But this does not have to be the end of your story. Healing comes from looking beneath all your current problems to the deeper mindset, shame, and false beliefs you may have been carrying for years and gently working through these things.
