First part of a two part video deriving the lorentz transformation! Why do we need the transformation in the first place? Well let's see when the more intuitive galilean transform fails.

Let me skype tutor you:

'This is intuitive, it's easy, it's wrong' lmao

here we see the hairy theoretical physicist species in his natural habitat, notice how he loves to be near a white board and marker pen and how he is compelled to draw strange symbols on it, using his hands to covey complex gesticulation to other humans that show more than a passing interest in this fascinating species

Hey Andrew ! You forgot to say at 3:30 that you're assuming speed of light doesn't change when you change reference frame. It's important because it's not obvious at all ! According to Galileo, the speed of any object adds up with the speed of your relative motion, so one should have c'=c+v ....

1:00 "displacement, we call that x prime x'" so this is a constant, depends not on time no f(t)

Someone is getting really creative with the thumbnail.
It's actually funny to think that Galileo is proving his own theory wrong.

Not all heroes wear capes... some wear grey t-shirts and have sick ass beards. Thank you for carrying me through my modern physics midterm!

This is probably my favourite piece of physics. One wonders what could have been the odds of Galileo having made the assumption of a constant speed of light. The real question of course is: why would Gallileo have a reason to make that assumption, in particular the assumption of constant speed but not of constant velocity. Now that would be my absolute favourite piece of physics - if one existed, I certainly do not know one.

Lorantz transformation in the general arbitrary case? what about photon?

U should do a video about deriving the equation for the rotational inertia of a sphere(or any other shape).

Change C, the equation can be balanced.

well hang on, you didn’t follow through and show how gallillean transfer arrived at a wrong answer you just asserted that without finishing the algebraic equation! WTF!
