Is My Dirt Cheap V8 Swapped 911 Better than a Real Porsche GT3?!

PowerKraut is Back and ready to Battle it out with a REAL Porsche GT3! I bought this 1999 Porsche 911 as a roller for $6900 and spent 14k making it into a killer performance machine! We swapped in a 5.3 Aluminum LS V8 making near 400HP and it’s been running around the PA backroads for months! Before it can take on the best 996 that Porsche had to offer, it needs some upgrades. Watch Tony Angelo and Stay Tuned Crew install BC coil overs, some track day brake pads, and electric power steering and then hit the track to see what happens against a $100k Factory Porsche Beast!

You identify actual shortcomings and tackle them head on. I respect that. Most people just do mods because they saw someone else did mods. But then again, most people aren't racing superstars either

Shout out Blake who is willing to put his extremely valuable car through these ridiculous tests for pizza.

Am I the only one who would love to watch a shop tour / history of your building episode? That place is so cool looking with the old chimney and giant trusses and gantry crane.

This is one of my favorite builds on YT. So simple, not chasing/making crazy hp numbers, out does a newer higher end factory version in more ways than one. We need more of this one and the Mark8 please

Thanks again Tony for having me out and Barb, Stone & Crosley, you guys were great.

Love watching a 305km/h GT3 cutting laps around the go-kart track, that car is a stunner.
But bang for the buck, PowerKraut !!!
Tony and the crew smashed it again

really a fun to watch this presentation Tony. You, Barb and Stone put a really super speed demon together! Thanks to Blake for agreeing to "test" his rig on the track with you, for our mutual enjoyment!

Wish you would have ran the GT3 to see what time you got to see how close they really were. Awesome build sir.
As someone who used to install stereos back in the late 80's and early 90's I 100% support your message about using the proper harness and wiring them correctly. It used to kill me people wouldn't spend the $10 to $20 and would cut the factory harness. We were always more than happy to charge them the extra hour of labor plus both harnesses to fix it in order for us to do the install and guarantee it. Lol

Really appreciate calling out that you have much more road course experience, during the autox portion. It matters! So do tires, wasn't sure what the GT3 was on but 615ks are sticky sticky. love the build and the channel.

This is so cool for a couple reasons. 1 is that Hoovie had a porsche like this with a v8 and it was also HIS favorite car. Seems to be a great combo. The second reason is Jay Lenno on his garage channel has many videos where he talks about the old days of combining European body and suspension with American power since both were better at that part respectively. It's cool to see that 50 years later after those cars Lenno was talking about, the same rule still works. I would love to see it with a turbo or supercharger or maybe aluminum block.

I kinda like the early water cooled 911's. They grew on me after 20 years.

I've seen some cool K swapped turbo 911's from this era that absolutely rip.
