I like the return to form, these last few videos remind me of Hoovies Garage when I started watching years ago. Sometimes less is more

I can also attest to the 6.2. I had a 5.4 3v before which was great to me as I maintained it, (ran perfect at 200k), but my 6.2 at almost 220k miles and 10, 000 idle hours runs like a dream. Ford really did a good job with these trucks

12:10 I like how Wizard just goes ahead and rolls down the window like it was a habit. When I worked in the auto shop, that was the very first thing I would do as well. I have locked the keys inside the car, so the window always goes down.

Another one! Even higher mileage than mine. Love it

Those 6.2 Boss engines are excellent, and the Raptors are seriously some of the most comfortable riding modern vehicles. Great find

I have owned my 2014 for coming up on 10 years. Its the greatest vehicle I've ever owned and thats saying quite a bit for me. 152k miles of pure joy plus quite a few air miles. I will own this truck forever

i think many of us would love to see a video where you just go for a nice sunday ride, show us your hometown and talk about life. You dont always have to buy or repair a car for a good video ;) Wish you all the best, im a long time fan from germany!

I can anecdotally attest to the reliable of the 6.2. My brother had owned one for about 6 years and has had no problems. And when I mean no problems, I mean literally ZERO problems. The alternator did go out after he got it stuck fender deep in mud. It’s actually been just as reliable as my 4Runner. I’d pick this motor over any new EcoBoost, I don’t care how much more powerful or efficient they are.

How many of us immediately went to Craigslist to search for 300k mile Raptors??🙋‍♂️

Hoovie you always forget about the 5.0l coyote when talking about F150s. They’re more reliable than the 5.4s and definitely more reliable than the modern afm 5.3s and 6.0s.

Hoovie needs an off-road track with jumps to test these cars 😂

Seeing how it needs manifold work, that would be a good excuse to throw some longtube headers on it make it sound really good and give it some more power

Late 90s through around 2008-2010 or so was a goldilocks zone for many cars/trucks/etc. Enough tech to get by but still uncomplicated enough to be reliable and fixable.

A kid at my HS got to use his dad's 1st gen Raptor on occasion back in the day. Especially at the time, that truck was completely absurd. We always used to get buried in a buddy's TJ jeep and the Raptor would come save us!! Love those trucks! Glad to see one

I love mine. It's my second vehicle. It's practical for moving things and towing, luxurious for a truck, great in snow, and of course there's the Baja...

In addition to smaller camping trips, every year I do 2 weeks of dispersed camping out west. Last month it was Moab and southwest Colorado. Incredibly comfortable, both getting there on the interstate and off-road...hauling 2 weeks of gear. Easily dispatches Imogene or any other Pass and all but the most hard core of rock crawling. Did 85mph across sandy wash sections of the the White Rim Trail in Canyonlands.

It's a bit thirsty, but not as bad as the 11.9mpg Hoovie is getting. I've see 15mpg+ hailing a 14 foot trailer on the interstate. About the only pain is access to some of the sparkplugs (and coils)--and there's 16 of them!

These slightly older Ford Raptor's with the 6.2 L V8 engine, which produces 411 horsepower and the six-speed automatic transmission are currently great pick-up trucks.

I’m glad I’m not the only one that goes “I’m a Ford” when I hear Ford door chimes. 😂

The 6.2 was a great engine. I had an F250 with that engine in it, 200k with nothing breaking before I sold it because I needed something else. Know a business with several well over 300k with the original engine and transmission.
