The genius who thought it was a good idea to put his troops in an exclusion zone for over a month deserves a very special place in the history books.

The russian forces dug into defensive positions on radioactive land. I can't stop laughing.

Inexplicably? 😂 they cut the power to the plant, didn’t wear protective gear, dug trenches in radioactive soil and made themselves sick. That explains everything.

I'm sure the Ukrainians were over joyed when Russian troops wanted to "dig in" around Chernobyl.

Plant worker: “you do realize this whole place is radioactive from the meltdown?”

Russian soldier-“meltdown? I was told it was nothing more than an unrequested fission surplus”

What a surprise, who would have thought you might be irradiated in a nuclear disaster zone? Flank speed ahead gentlemen.

Reporter: "Soldiers may have been exposed to radiation".

Deputy Secretary SHCHERBINA: "In terms of radiation, Plant Director Bryukhanov reports no more than 3.6 roentgen. I'm told that's the
equivalent of a chest x-ray".

They didn't just surround Chernobyl, but actually *went in*?? Now wouldn't it be revealing to know just whose idea that was? The place is not completely hot throughout, but there are places so contaminated that you can still get a lethal dose of radiation in about an hour. Those places also contain the materials that are slowest to decrease in radiation. Half life for significant sources are 200 or 300 years, meaning that by 2320 you'd have to be exposed for about two hours to get a lethal dose.

I know that. And they don't know that? What a great idea: let's go in and hold the place!

What a criminal lack of respect for human life! It's not a war crime, because it advanced the war not a whit, probably set it back. It's a crime, plain and simple, any time, any circumstances, sheer murder, lawlessness unbounded, anarchy, disordered thinking, disordered power structure, disordered consciences. War on civilization.

This is the second time they have abandoned it. Too bad they didn't send reinforcements.

We could say that radiation sickness is an...occupational hazard.

Im not understanding this why would they even want to take that plant over? I wouldn't step foot in that area after watching a doc of all those ppl who died of radioactive poisoning and cancer.
