I'm a tutor and I often cite your channel to all my students saying that I like your channel because you are a down to earth guy and you explain your struggles and how you overcame them and that you don't try to artificially make maths, "Fun".

I’m not interested in getting “good” at math, just obsessed in these books like collecting comic books and wanted to know the story behind them, man I love math.

You gave me passion to study mathematics from the start, thank you!

I would avoid the Stuart books except as a source of practice problems. They are low on concepts and high on procedure. If you get stuck on say the linear and angular velocity part that was pointed out, it's because the book doesn't explain it well. What got me through school and college was buying multiple books and usually one or more of them or as a result of reading all of them, the bigger picture became clear and so the equations started to make sense. I've since written my own text book (not on math) and I did as I would like others to do.. put in way more diagrams and explanations than equations and procedures, so the equations and procedures make sense and are accessible.

Law student here. I've always considered myself bad at math, yet I've always admired it

I wasn't very good at maths at school - the subject frightened me. But I love solving puzzles such as cryptic crosswords and sudoku. I'm sure with hindsight I could have been better if I'd had confidence, enthusiasm and had applied myself. If maths could be promoted more as puzzle solving I think that would help to intrigue and enthuse a lot of young minds.

David butlers mathematical foundations is one of the most enlightening videos on just how math evolved. It makes counting and arithmetic make much sense

I am enrolled in Intermediate Algebra for this fall semester. My last class was pre algebra 2 years ago, I fought hard to get that A in the class. See I am 51 years old, my last math classes before this where basic high school math I barely passed with a D- !
Thank you for the videos, I truly find them inspiring. I know this intermediate Algebra class is going to be difficult, but my goal of course is no less then an A grade!

My favorite calculus book was the violin cover of James Stewart. There was also a book in 80s about math anxiety that I had to read as a mathematics tutor. Though I prefer to tutor the ones who are pre algebra. My whole thing with math, it was so logical for me, that I will admit that the only things I ever really read in a math book are the history of mathematicians. I also, used to tell my students that keep doing the math problems, and the understanding usually comes later. It is a hard thing for some students accept. I think after I finish my masters degree, I will probably just go back to the local community college and just take math classes for the fun of it. I chose a degree that does applied mathematics.

I'm new to self teaching math. Videos don't work well for me. I've always been more of a reader so your channel has been a godsend for recommendations.
The thing I've been most surprised by is how good most math books are at explaining new concepts. I expected them to read more like dry reference books.

Grab a math book and learn it. What a break through.

This is the library calling, we seem to have located some very past due books in this video.

Pleased with your advice, your explanations are down to earth. With youe explanations there is no need for dyscalculia. In fact a number of years ago, in the carpark of a nearby shopping cetre I go to, someone threw away two textbooks about Pure and Applied maths. I took them home and still have them until someone else will want them.

I have been feeling down about not being good enough at math. I do not want to be behind in my major. I LOVE math but I am not always "good" at it. Your video(s) have inspired me to continue and try more and more and I am getting better bit by bit. :)

I am learning maths now on and off. I am back to art and animation.

I am interested in your collection of books in video. For example, "College Physics, " "Introduction to Calculus and Analysis, " "Elements of Complex Analysis, " etc. I love trigonometry and its rigours. In school years ago, I had learned some trigonometry through mechanical drawing (aka technical graphics) which taught me theorems of triangles, arcs, circles, tangents, etc. Every serious mathematician should learn mechanical drawing or technical graphics. It helps one think maths outside the box.

Thank you so much for this ! It's really comforting to know that anyone can learn math and that it's not restricted only to people who are intuitively good at it !

I am a fresh math major, I've started studying set theory and usually get stuck on every single page and spend huge amount of time just to get around the axioms, definitions, these lemma section that are left there without a single proof (those can take me even hours to figure out even though there are usually obvious and simple śtatements)

Seeing you grow so fast is so amazing! Thanks to you I started taking math more seriously and even got a tutor, I'm still so noob and old(24 T.T), but loving it so far~

There's a video of yours called "Learn Maths from start to Finish", I really liked it, do you still consider it valid or will you change something from the books and order you mentioned in that video?
