The government should stay out of our business. We haven't had a house payment in 30 years no truck payment in 13 years . No credit card debt. This is a lifestyle. We are not rich in money but comfortable. We burn wood no gas bill. We have 10acres in the country and enjoy the work I do. I am rich in the LORD JESUS. THIS is the answer to contentment. Thanks Tawra.

I love to learn! Always have. Your things can always be taken away or lost in a disaster but NO ONE can take your knowledge from you!😊🤔

My Dad was born in a big family in the 20’s had a 3rd education because he had to work on the farm. My mother never worked. We were poor but, never went without . He worked overtime and two jobs when needed. If you didn’t have a job he would find you one . Lol . I love you Daddy me and my Brother grew up to be hard workers with no regrets.

I got a laugh today, I went to where I used to work, they asked me if I wanted a job? I retired 2 years ago. Don’t need to work again. And I’m totally happy doing whatever I want when I want to do it!

Also please people never count on anything until it is in your hand. Never in a million years did we think my husband would be forced to retire early and cut our retirement income by 1/3. Now we are living out of my pantry and figuring out our next moves to make up the difference. Thank God bills are paid and I have the pantry. It bought us time to figure this out.

My Mom only got $250.00 a month for my 2 older brothers and myself from 1964 when I was 5 years old until 1977 when I turned 18. She worked as an LPN for 16 hours a day at a County nursing home. There were times we didn't have food or very little, but I knew that my Mom care about me and was doing the best she could. I went to work when I was 16 years old to help her out. I appreciate everything that I have and because of going through those rough times. I am more careful with food and spending money. We never had new cars, our clothes were from thrift stores, and we are pinto beans!

I closed my IRA when I was stage 5 kidney failure so that my house and car were both paid off. I banked the rest to pays medical expenses. I didn't have to worry about my house or transportation to doctor visits. I was blessed with a kidney transplant in 2019.
Since then I have been able to take advantage of specials and stock my pantry with foods that I actually eat and can still help others. I use a rice topper on the shepherd pie from your book because potatoes have too much potassium.
I rarely eat out because I can have 4 or 5 meals for one take out. I like trying fake out recipes and have gathered a few different spices to help with other cuisines.
I am not shy about borrowing others ideas. 😁😁

I came to you for ideas because I love learning and can do many repairs myself. However, I am a senior citizen who has survived a prolonged illness, so my focus has to be getting my strength back first and then disciplining myself to stop bad habits while I was ill (such as watching videos to learn things). As energy returns, I am doing more, trying to be patient with my slow progress. I have been wealthy as well as extremely poor. Your points in this video are correct. Thank you for reminding me I am on the right track to do more than survive.

When you're young, you think you have your whole life to get ahead. I took out a little in college and car debt and my husband also had college debt. Then I got chronically sick at 31. I'm doing well enough now to work, but I wish neither of us had taken out loans. Our rainy day came while we were still young. I'm thankful for channels like this. God has been faithful to teach us what we needed to know.

I am doing no spend January because I don’t need anything I can’t live without. I don’t spend much throughout the year any way. I mainly wanted to see if I could succeed 😊 when February comes I will continue to buy what is on sale like I do for the most part. I am 66 and have never had a new car.

Amen! I know what you are saying it true because I have experienced it for myself. We do have a house payment (biggest mistake ever) but we are close to paying it off. We have to hear "it must nice", and "you are so lucky" too, I am quick to tell them luck had nothing to do with it, I tell them that we worked hard and were blessed. Hope people will take to heart what you have said, it could really change their lives.

In my observations. .3 things poor people do with money, are disorganization, poor planning. ..and reckless careless, spending!..all of which I have been guilty of at one point in my life!💖💖💖

So true Twara, we made through on my disability check when my husband lost his job in October last year. This was due to not having to buy food because we have a back pantry. We even had a great Christmas and this month I visited mason in Florida for 2 weeks. It is smart to think ahead and save where you can for when you will need it.

I HATE when people misquote the " love of money is the root of all evil"

Sadly it often costs more to make somethings at home such as detergent due to the ingredients costing so much these days. It seems like anything even remotely related to survival and independence is sky high now.

I agree 100% with everything in this video! I worked very closely with a multi-millionaire in a startup business. I learned SO much from him! I also see my brother who just earned his MBA go from nothing to now having 3 rental properties in 4 years. He doesn't have to work now but of course he does. I am guilty of playing games on my phone for hours. I also watch too much Youtube LOL! But yeah rich people work or learn a new skill 12+ hours a day. They work their current thing for 12 hours then research their next thing for 4 hours. Then they drop into bed and sleep like the dead because they've worn themselves out. My mentor wore ratty golf shirts and jeans. He drove a regular car. His wife cooked all their food. He brought his lunch to work. He mowed his own lawn. He haggled for every deal and bought equipment used. Listen to Tawra this is great advice!

Amen! You tell it! My husband and I used zero percent charge cards to crawl out of debt..we were always so surprised at how fast the debt went away with payments not paying interest!!
