Calisthenics, Rich people, and snob people, took the basics of calisthenics and work out science, added expensive gear, and became it into "crossfit".

I’m shocked that going to college didn’t make this list. A friend of mine who’s an MD, went to medical school back in the 70s for under 5k.

In psychology 101, we learned that the super rich are much like the poor. They do many of the same things for different reasons. This is an interesting topic.

Mahatma Gandhi used KHADI a handloom made fabric, as a symbol of poor man's clothing in India and made it a symbol of Indian freedom struggle. Nowadays it is one of the expensive fabrics in India, worn by politicians only.

Video games, it was the cheaper alternative to toys long term because you could play them over and over again. Now everything has a Season Pass, Deluxe Edition and tons of expensive downloadable content. Not to mention pay to win situations.

My father was a security guard for the Walt Disney Company, and I remember we would get a free set of tickets 3 times a year. In the 90's Disneyland had great food and very affordable, I even got to go to Club 33 and you had to be nicely dressed to attend the Club.

After the crash of '08 he was laid off. Recently attending Disneyland the price of tickets is outrageous, the food is sub par and expensive, and the experience isn't as magical. Unless you have the money to afford the full magic of Disneyland, which used to be affordable or free, Disneyland can be a headache.

One of my favorite memories was employees night. It would happen a week before Christmas, and the park was closed early so Disney employees of all capacity would enjoy 8 hours of Disneyland to themselves, fast lines, free food, and as we left the park would get a free Christmas tree decoration.

Yeah, I'm a little upset that the rich ended such an experience.

My family was in a lower income bracket and I was lucky enough to go to a Montessori school growing up. It makes me sad this experience isn't accessible for every child anymore. Socioeconomic background should be irrelevant.

Rock concerts. I don't go to concerts much and the price is the main reason. Tickets used to $50 and now they're $500! In 1996 I went to an open air end of summer concert that lasted all day. I don't remember all the bands but it ended with KC and the Sunshine Band and Def Leppard. It was $6! Those days are long gone. Oh ya. Got mad respect for KC and the Sunshine Band after seeing them live. Whether you like their music or not, their live performance was awesome!
