This is a VERY early Mini-boss you will see within 15 minutes of playing. Don't worry this isn't a spoiler.

You made this look so freakin easy. I spent an hour and a half in mounted flail duels with him until I finally got lucky.

Omg ive been trying to get this guy to respawn after I lost to him once, for like an hour. I just realized from the comments he spawns at NIGHT. Well, at least I have what I need now for a better flail

My problem isn’t with the knight, it’s his horse. The knight’s horse at Lenne’s Rise will do this side-buck move into me after I dodge and press in to attack. It does way more damage than I expect and it stuns me long enough for him to get a swing off. Very difficult but I don’t like cheesing so will have to find another strategy to beat him

For anyone still struggling with these guys, if you're fighting one with a halberd you can actually parry his strikes to knock him off his horse instantly. I know many people struggle with parrying, but if you pick up a buckler or small shield and put in the practice, he becomes incredibly easy and stylish to beat.

(As a side note, if you prefer medium shields then try equipping the "Storm Wall" Ash of War you can get early in the game, it costs a small amount of FP but allows medium shields to have parry windows as wide as small shields)

Man, this guy made me realize that my greatest enemy isn't the AI combos, but the goddamn camera man.

This took me like 25 tries but eventually did it. Agree that it’s easier on the ground and learning to doge than try to have a jousting competition

For anyone who are having problems or wondering why you didn't get the Night Cavalry's flail or halberd, not to worry because there are a good multiple of them out in the world and I've managed to get both my halberd and flail. To find these bosses, they can be found near these sites of graces AT NIGHT.

-Between Agheel Lake North & Waypoint Ruins Cellar
-Between Castle Morne Rampart & Castle Morne Lift
-Between Lenne's Rise & Dragonbarrow Cave
-Between Caelid Highway South & Southern Aeonia Swamp Bank
-Between Gate Town Bridge & Liurnia Highway North
-Between East Raya Lucaria Gate & Bellum Church
-Between Grand Lift of Dectus & Altus Highway Junction
-Between Forbidden Lands & Grand Lift of Rold

These are the Night Calvary that I've found thus far, I hope this helps you out in getting these two Black Knight tier weapons for your character ;P

One thing some might not realise, is that it's easy to get the souls back when you do die. There's a site of grace tight there and your souls are in the open, no long ride, no other enemies to fight through.

This guy took me longer to defeat than Margit at level 30!

What I like about this boss fight is you can tackle it in multiple ways. You want to joust on horseback you can, you want to fight him on foot?, he will oblige you after you kill his horse. And if you choose not to engage on foot he will go back to horseback. You can also do both and whittle his horses health down on horseback and then switch to foot when he is grounded.

I've got the one with the fucking 15 foot pole ax, died thirty times, never got him off his horse once, the first time I got him off the horse I went to town on him, and somehow got a backstab in on him to finish it.

Loved the whole black knight/death dealer vibe, and how he stares you down at a distance menacingly before following and engaging. The finisher move when you knock him down just makes you feel so friggin heroic.

Get up super close to the horse on it’s left side. His attacks will miss you. Then you attack and move over to the right side to avoid the barge from the horse. Key to the fight is getting in his face

Best method I found is to try to always stay on the right. Stay close to him and when he swings his flail, dodge to the right and get a hit in. It took some time but I was able to beat him doing that.

Was being stingy with smithing stones and was just using my basic confessor broadsword. damn this took a while.

I literally tried like ten times on horse and as soon as I fought Nights Cavalry on foot I beat it first try, I honestly don’t know why I didn’t try sooner

I personally like fighting them on horseback. I don’t know maybe I’m just weird, but fighting on Torrent is really fun for me.
