Thanks for showing how to do this. Note: for me, I kept trying to use different pass codes so my Ipad locked and it had a message stating that I couldn't try to reset for one hour. So, I waited an hour and I was able to reset it.

OMG thank you so much, it actually work using Mac air 2020. I wasn't even done installing my brand new iPad, but for some reason it wouldn't let me using the passcode that I already put! Apple is so annoying, but thanks for the help.
