Is it a sin for Christians to get tattoos?

I’m a tattoo artist and i struggle with this everyday. I pray everyday for god to allow me to follow his will and it be done, and I’ve been a tattoo artist for many years now. All I know is I give god the glory for every tattoo I do. I’ve been conflicted for years and yet I still feel like this is the path he has lead me down and I choose to follow his will.

My body is the temple of God. Why would I want to deface it? My answer is no tats. That's my conscience level and I have to live by it.

I'm not inclined to get a tattoo for two reasons I have none is because I lived a life of crime and did not want to be identified by it. The other reason didn't want a tattoo of something I would no longer agree with. Now I have no need we have shirts etc. We can rep Christ with them and with our actions the way we live..

I got 2 tattoos and don’t plan on getting anymore, I do believe it is personal conviction because I even asked in prayer can I get more and it felt as if God told me no. I only have a cross with a purple robe on my arm and on my collar bone God is greater than the highs and lows.

I just got “Free Indeed” under my collar bone last week and let me tell you, I have never been more proud to follow Him, more humbled and more in love. Other than my face, this tattoo will be the first thing people see on me. Jesus truly does save and changed everything.

I got not tats because of traditional beliefs and still was "tempted" to do some. but did do other marks but I didn't try to judge people for it. And then spirit and thought from others judging got to me and I would see it and got mad about it and especially what they had as tattoo.

As the Children of God we should NOT harm our bodies like that. Wouldnt we be doing the same as the nation's even if it's a tattoo a Jesus Christ? Shouldn't we leave it to God to eternally mark us?

Before I became born again I had gotten a couple of tattoos.. Now that i am born again I regret getting them in the first place. I dont think its right for a christian to get tattoos, we are called to be set apart from the world, if the world embraces it, then we should not engage in it .

Your explanation is a prime example of why each Christ follower HAS to study the Holy Bible for themselves!!!! The Holy Spirit is our teacher, guide, & comforter. Also Strong's Concordance is a good companion in studying the Holy Word!
Jesus Christ Yeshua is both God & Man. As a man he is Jew. He followed the Law of Moses but he also fulfilled the Law. As a Jew he would not desecrate his body by having a tattoo!

I heard a sermon once that stated that this only applied to the levitical priests not to the other Israelites. I’m not suggesting whether it’s a sin or not. That is just one particular view point.

The marking of Jesus Christ is not a tattoo it’s a holy symbol that we are his. If the Bible says do not do something don’t do it. Do not add or subtract from the word
