You don’t slice bread until it cools, it will dry out and be doughy to eat when hot. You need a serrated knife to slice bread too.

Let it cool (completely) on a cooling metal square cooling plate. Don't cut the bread until it completely cools unless you plan to eat the entire loaf. Cutting hot bread loaf will dry out the remainder of the bread.

I bought a bread maker. I use to get up at 1am to load it up so at 6am when my alarm goes off I'd have fresh bread. The smell of your home is incredible. The bread you make is out of this world. I made this so many times I put 21lb on (1-1/2 stone English) so I had to get rid of it lol.

My mom got a bread maker because her arthritis made it hard for her to knead. It lasted a long time and was really good!

I remember my mom got one for Christmas in the mid-late 90s. She still has it and uses it t this day. A couple times a year she makes cinnamon raisin bread.

Those machines are great for simple, homemade bread!
