The beautiful thing about the origami crane is that, no matter how many you fold or how skilled you get, every crane will have unique imperfections of it's own in it, meaning that, just like people, no two cranes can ever be the same.

My school group made 1000 paper cranes for a girl who died because of a bombing. We sent it to japan for a display. It took weeks of many breaks just folding paper and yours looks better than mine will ever look. Mine always have some deformed heads and seem to have one wing longer than the other.

There’s a jazz group called “Hiroshima. One on of their albums, there’s a song called “Send Them a Thousand Cranes”. Thanks to you…I finally grasp a new aspect of that song. Anyway…happy folding!

tutorial:
1 sheet of origami paper (square)

fold the paper diagonally on both sides, unfold, flip the paper around, fold them horizontally and vertically, and unfold them. now rotate the paper 45° and take the left and right corner and fold them towards the middle of the paper. If done correctly, your paper should be a quarter its original size. Now with paper still diagonal, take the top layer of the bottom corner and raise it until it forms a diamond shape on top of the 45° square. fold the crease. flip the paper around and do the same thing. now your paper should be a tall diamond. Now fold the bottom left and bottom right or the paper to align at the center vertical line. do the same on the other side. now fold the top layer of the bottom corner towards the top, corner touching corner, and do the same on the pther side. now your paper should have legs (as i like to call it). fold the left leg towards the top from the side, along with the other. now fold a portion of the broken left leg facing left (from the side), and fold down the wings (imagine someone followed this tutorial)

Very exciting video! Origami has always fascinated with its simplicity and beauty. The steps are shown so clearly that even a beginner can follow them😊😊😊😊

fun fact: I consider myself an origami expert, and that is because all the origamis I know how to do... well... how do I say it. I discovered how to make them but myself. never learned from a tutorial.
Edit: i'm still gonna learn from tutorials now, because my origamis won't upgrade if I don't upgrade my folding.
other fun fact: I teached the entire class how to make cranes and 60% of em failed (we had an entire hour to make em)

The priest at my church made 1000 paper cranes and gave them out to all the kids

As a person who's been doing origami for 7 years, I think your crane is pretty good for a beginner.

tip: when pulling the head and tail out, push the point on the back for a 3d look ;)

It is possible to accomplish this goal. When we learnt about Sadako in school, we were also taught how to make the cranes. We made over 1000 cranes for some initiative or program. I must've made over 150 cranes. Making and teaching every new person.
