From Flat Earth To 🌎 ?

Challenged myself to create a 3D printed earth starting from a flat print. I underestimated this one!

I did not include the foldable version because that one is tricky and has big gaps. I think the new version looks much better.

If people really want the foldable one I will consider uploading it, but with a big warning that it will not look great as to avoid lots of complaints and bad reviews.

why is it actually so hard for flat earthers to believe that the earth is actually round? genuine question. what even made them think that in the first?😭

this also nicely visualizes why stuff away from the equator are bigger, to make it a nice neat rectangle, youll see you need to stretch the top and bottom as opposed to doing nothing at exactly the equator, the stretching making the landmasses look bigger

Lots of you have asked for the stl file for this model. I have however decided to make a new version of this model that will be better in every single way (and using magnets as some of you have suggested). This will add a lot more value as it can be a puzzle but also allows you to switch between “flat earth” to spherical earth. I will make a new video about that but will also share the link to this new model here. Thanks all.

Fun fact: Every 2D map of the world is technically wrong, since because the Earth is a sphere, it’s impossible to display the surface fully flat without distorting it in some way
