The single solid white line found in some tunnels isn’t even a road marking found in the Highway Code so obviously there are no rules or no laws attached to them, would you be allowed to cross the line even though you shouldn’t? Changing lanes and overtaking in a tunnel is strongly discouraged.

What exactly is the likelihood of my car catching fire anywhere, never mind in a tunnel? I drive a Tesla, and before that I drove a Mazda CX7, among others. All well serviced, all bought new, and all much newer than ten years old. And I'm hardly ever in a tunnel. Can't think of the last time I was in a tunnel. I know that USA is different, but so often the UK test just strikes me as not realistic. I am NEVER going to have a car on fire in a tunnel. Nor am I going to be the first responder to a car accident victim--are you kidding? The road test may treat you as if you should be one, but any sane person would not take on the liability. Leave it to the medical professionals! In the US, no one would think of doing anything else.
