How to Stay Centered in Your Lane - Driving Tips

For any info:

Here's a video on how to stay centered in your lane. There are mainly two reasons why beginners drift:
1-They're not looking at the right place,
2- the way they hold the wheel.
That's what I talk about in this video. Hope you like it.

Note: While I try to make my videos as universal as possible, rules and laws may vary according to the place where you’re driving and might be different from the ones in this video. Always drive according to the laws and rules that apply to the place where you are driving. Requirements at the driving exam may also be different than the ones shown here. Always respect the requirements that apply to the place where you are passing your driving exam. This video is not meant to replace your official driving courses.

Family members: you're too far to the right, you need to learn how to be more centered
Me: ok, how do I do that?
Family members: just drive more centered
Me: great, thanks....
This really helped, thanks

My first time driving I was repeatedly told to stay centered but I kept asking how am I supposed to know if I’m centered or not? And I was told “you just have to get a feel of it” like... okay?? it FEELS like Ik centered but you’re saying I’m not. This video was very helpful

This really is a life lesson. We give so much of our energy to things that we try to avoid that we hit it (literally) instead of focusing on where we want to go

WOW I actually thought this video would be obvious and gimmicky. This is one of the biggest things I struggle with while driving. I do ALL of these things. I'm always drifting my car towards things and it drives me crazy wondering how other people can align themselves perfectly. Thanks a bunch - teenager with driving permit.

I’m 25 and just got my license after being on my learner permit for years. I would watch your videos before every lesson to calm my nerves and they really helped me a lot. I still watch your videos to guide me as a new driver 😊

To anyone who wants to get their license but is too scared/anxious, please go for it! Lessons are nerve-wracking but once you have your license you can pretty much do what you want without anyone judging you. This is what my instructor told me (just to encourage me). Remember, driving examiners just want to know if you can follow the rules and be safe on the road! If I can do it, you can too. Good luck! 😊

I absolutely LOVE YOU. I wish you were my instructor. Ive spent money and having anxiety attacks about being on the road because im corrected with no methodical explanation on how to correct myself, You did it in 4 minutes. Youre the reason people wont have accidents and im proud to say that. MORE INSTRUCTORS LIKE YOU SHOULD EXIST. I m grateful for your teachings

An old trucker tip I was taught was to imagine your right foot (american driving on right side of road) is in the middle of the road and you will always stay in the middle.

I could still remember how I would argue with my Dad when he first taught me. He kept on yelling that I'm gonna hit people or random objects found on the road, but never really explained how I could evade them. Thanks!

This is very similar to how motorcyclists learn to ride. Looking at an obstacle that you're trying to avoid is called "target fixation." What happens is, you end up hitting the very thing you were trying to avoid. To combat this, it is encouraged to look through the turn. This is especially true on curves blocked by trees, hills, or whatever. Assume that the road beyond what you can see is covered by loose gravel, a fallen tree, slime, whatever, and prepare to react accordingly.

I have severe driving anxiety that has prevented me from learning, so these simple videos are a real blessing. Thank you for making them!!

My problem is that I want to respect the speed limit so much so I keep on staring at the dashboard to see my speed and it takes my attention away. so I start to swerve lol. But I'll correct it, I know I am a good driver!

I am learning to drive, and my instructor kept saying "keep yourself centered. Stay on your lane!" And true enough, just as indicated here, I kept watching the borders trying not to get too close to them or the pavement, and that's exactly where I would find myself heading to 😅 But in under 4 minutes, I now know how I will stay centered! Thank you for the tip. Boyyyy have I got a surprise for my instructor tomorrow! And oh, looove the accent 😊😊

1:30 "Students tend to look at the concrete borders so that they don't hit it, and what happens? They almost hit it."

I feel attacked.

But I like this guy.
