Making the gym more accessible and removing barriers through knowledge. These are the shorts that get me motivated to stay focused and keep improving. Good stuff, Jeff.

I spend more time in gym waiting for equipment than actual excercise 😢

Any time I discuss minimum effective training, this question comes up:

Is this really enough volume to maximize gains?

For a beginner: Yeah, it might be.

For everyone else: There’s a difference between optimal gains and detectable gains. Most people can still make detectable gains on very low volume programs. You may need more sets for those gains to be optimal, but what is optimal isn’t always worth it.

I think it’s good to know that if you are more limited on time, you can still make great progress with very short workouts as long as you’re pushing hard!

damn, this gives me motivation to start just working out for bare minimum as a start, rather than go all in and burn out after a week. thanks for the content !

Mike Mentzer has been preaching about this way way back then... R.I.P to the goat

Remember, he didn’t say this is going to get you as much gains as doing a 1 hour workout, but it is very helpful if you don’t have time

As a med student with such little time, this is clutch. Thank you Jeff

Mike Mentzer can finally rest in peace, he’s been singing the 1 set to failure since the early 90s, legend 🙏🏿

My workouts were up to an hour and 15 minutes 5 days a week. I would hit these walls of fatigue and couldn't figure out why. This realization helped me a lot.

I’ve been following your tips and had my yearly body scan. I’ve put on significant muscle mass because of your advice. Thank You!

I’m gonna play this video at my gym in hopes of people listening to you and leaving the gym in 30 mins 😂, looking jacked Jeff!

this is great for those that lose motivation for the gym from going way too many times in a week. i thought when i first started i had to work out every day and i spent nearly 2 hours in the gym everyday. needless to say i gave up about a month in.

i finally started watching jeff’s content and i got so much motivation to continue working out and i simplified my routine to work around my time. i’ve now been working out for 2 years consistently and ive seen major improvements in my body. i also quit smoking in these past few years and that also helped.

thank you jeff.

Time doesn't even make sense as a measure of strength training. Volume (in sets) is the right measure. Therefore, the total time taken would be:

Warm-ups + Exercises + Rest + Wait + Commute.

Since I lift at home with a bench and dumbbells, my commute is negligible, and I don't have to wait for equipment to be freed up. The downside of course is the lack of access to barbell, machine, and cable exercises, but that's a compromise I'm willing to make.

The more research and studies gets published the more i believe how much Mike mentzar and his high intensity low volume training method was soo much ahead of it's time

It is true for me. Five years of minimal exercise (5-15min most sessions, usually 3 times a week) and I am much stronger now (e.g. lifting 4x more than when I started). I'm sure that I could have reached this point faster if I had exercised more. But I'm lazy - it was either that or nothing. I'm glad I did this instead of skipping completely. Also, giving myself the option to exercise just for 5 mins meant that I often started exercising and then my mood improved and I kept going for longer. But to be fair, I've never heard this opinion that you should exercise for 1h minimum.

Only if Mike Mentzen knew that some time ago 😂. Much love Jeff ❤

As always Jeff, thank so much. As a father to a 11 month old and working full time it’s hard to get the hours I thought I needed in the gym and always felt bad when I couldnt get a full hour in. So this was really helpful.
