Everybody else bouncing back...

The Ventress was an interesting and complex character that I really liked. In the current times, I can see them twisting this character into this toxic version, but let's hope that we are moving away from doing that and just focusing on the story of the character.

Waiting for count dooku to come back as the headless horseman at this point

I don’t read the books which is why I was so confuse about her dying. Truth be told I feel Ventress was too big of a character to kill offscreen.

Ventresses ending is more open ended then ppl make it sound. Vos puts her in a lake n sees green tendrils n nightsister Magick engulf her and ASSUMES it was her spirit joining her dead sisters. When it was written it may have been their intentions as well, but in hindsight what Vos was seeing could hav been the magic working to save ventresses life! I think that Is how they will explain her return.. Vos wrongly assumed he watched her transition to the spirit world, but what he actually saw was nightsister magic beggining the steps to save her life..perhaps it took minutes, days, weeks or months floating in that sea of green witch juju, but the end result was her regaining her life, strength ect..I truly believe if It wasn't always the plan, that somebody on the writing teàm reread dark deciples and realized that ventresses "death" was very open ended and wasn't written as definitivly as it probably should have been and took it as an opportunity to continue her story without changing the canon. That very small detail of " tendrils and green Magick engulfing her" creates just enough doubt to bring her back without being too cheap about it lol. She always had a "out" with her nightsister background, but it would have been a cheap "out".. the way her end was described gives them a " we always meant to bring her back n that's why it was open ended" lol..do I believe that? Not really but do i believe it was a convenient happy lil accident? Yes...yes I do..

So this is not the first time they considered bringing Ventress back, apparently they wanted to do it for “Resistance” but didn’t end up doing it. Also it looks like she has a curved saber in the trailer which is not the saber she has in Dark Disciple (the model is the same for the other half of Maul’s repaired Saberstaff in Season 7). She never got her curved sabers back which is the point of the new saber yet it looks identical to her original ones (could be wrong but it certainly looks curved)

They’ll have to do a LOT of tiptoeing around the established canon to make it work without retconning the book

I bet we get a Ventress & Voss love story in the next Tales of the Jedi season

I always assumed if Quinlan Voss survived, long enough to be mentioned into The Obi-Wan series, then there's a possibility of her returning

I never even knew this about Quinlan Vos, that he tapped into the darkside to go undercover. Love these lore vids!

If they retconned asajj ventress that means Kenobi Vader and Luke as well as darth maul existing in the same timeline which just creates more plot holes

I think it's Great that they're bringing Ventress back. She's a Great Character.
I personally haven't read Dark Disciple, But I know that She has a very meaningful death in that book and I can understand why some people would be upset, But I think She's a Character who they could tell so many more stories with, So I'm happy that She's Coming Back.

I'm not mad either way. At least she is a great character and I'm down for more of her story. Will be interesting to see how they make it all work.

Ventress is a character that has “died” at least three times in legends. Her coming back now, in canon with the affiliation with the Nightsisters and their magicks, is probably the least “how did they bring this character back from the dead” issue that I have.

This could be where they bring the hibernation trance ability back into canon. In legends this ability was used to explain how a Jedi who we seen slain by General Grievous in the 2D clone wars micro series is later seen in one of the comic arcs set a year or two later.
If anyone has played Knights of the Old Republic 2, will know that Kreia also uses this ability when the Exile finds her and assumes she is another dead body like the miners.
In the Legacy comics, Cade Skywalker I think also used this ability to fake his own death following the Masscre on Ossus (his best friend and own master were unable to sense him in the Force, even though their ship was still in the same system).
And another famous user was Jedi Master Tholme. Tholme used this during the Siege of Saleucami at a time when Quinlan Vos was still a double/triple agent and a servant of Count Dooku. Tholme fought Quinlan and faked his own death so that neither Vos nor Aayla Secura could sense him.
I see no reason why Asajj Ventress could not do the same here. Faking her own death plus Nightsister magick gets her a get out of jail free card. As to why she didn’t seek out Vos again, who knows. Maybe that story gets moved along the timeline so that by the time she is fully healed events of Revenge of the Sith are underway and she doesn’t find him again until sometime into the Imperial era 🤷🏻‍♂️
I kind of hope they make a bounty hunter series using the same style animation, with Ventress as a main character who works alongside other bounty hunters. Her story could be similar to that of A’Sharad Hett: former Jedi who survived Order 66 and disgraced Tusken leader who makes a living as a bounty hunter.
Said show could also give us the western style duel between Cad Bane and Boba Fett that we were supposed to have gotten in the bounty hunters arc of TCW.

At this point there's the canon where "if you die you are probably dead" and the "somehow so and so returned".

I think her death was always meant to be a Gandolf situation where she is reborn and changed. Her death, while impactful and important for the story that was being told, was always written with room to bring her back because they chose to leave her body in what could be described as the SW equivalent of a Lazarus pit. I think that the writer was told to leave the door open for her return and did so in a way that does not require much mental gymnastics to explain how she is back.

Well, Ashoka was a cool female character, until Disney goofed her up.

Now I'm just afraid that the same fate awaits Ventress.
