Barcelona is attempting to limit the number of cruise ships from the main terminal. A historic cruise ship, the Aurora, sunk in the river. Cruise line stocks were unavailable on Monday as the market was closed for Memorial Day.

Mornin' Doug! I think the Barcelona situation is going to be a repeating theme. As cruise ship get bigger and the number increases a conundrum emerges: Only larger ports can accommodate the bigger ships so you can't easily disperse ships among smaller ports to spread the number of guests across a larger area. Only the luxury lines seem to be building larger ships, so the smaller ports get fewer ships. Larger ports cities don't want (or need) all the tourist business.

What's an industry that is fixated on "bigger is better" to do? Going to be interesting to watch!
