This is ESPECIALLY true when it comes to pain. I’ve seen (via my students) and experienced it (for myself) time and time again.

I don't get the part where most normal people who aren't dissociated or dysregulated, they don't have to do all this intentional slow movement stuff but they can still stay regulated somehow for probably their whole lives? I don't get it. Is a solid/decent upbringing seriously THAT paramount to where it determines your entire life essentially 😩 why can't it be healed and done? Whys it gotta be a lifelong practice to maintain?

I got 2 books on somatic healing and haven’t done either. One is yoga poses and one is a workbook.
I guess that means I need to take a class in this.

Interesting.... tai chi just came to mind. Would that be along these lines? I have a rare disease that affe ts my nervous system badly, and now I'm SO clumsy I can't have glassware and I frequently spadm and "throw" things as I try to pick them up. And walls attack me. This sounds like what I need. All of this.

How about 80s break dancing? Does that fix the problem?
