The Winston/beagle story struck a nerve. Ex husband/father of children tried to pull something nasty on me & our 2 daughters once, didn’t count on our babysitter/friend being a sweet, ethical family.
My family went on a week vacation. We asked our babysitter who lived 1 street over to check on/feed our dog Blue. When we got home we discovered someone “apparently” removed Blue’s collar & stole her. Fortunately our babysitter felt horrible, responsible. They were/are decent, good people. So they searched the neighborhood and local pound. They found her, anonymously dropped off by someone who found her running loose. Brought her home. They told us this when we got back. Husband seemed surprised Blue was home when we came home. A couple of days later husband admitted the babysitter screwed up his plan. Seems he made arrangements for his best buddy to take Blue & drop her at the pound while we were on vacation because, stupid selfish reasons. I suspect it was his need to “ control” all of us. Ironically, he became very, very emotionally attached to Blue. He didn’t care about causing me or our children such emotional pain. Asshole. This episode was nothing compared to other things he did to all of us both before & after our divorce.

I used to be a Cub Scout Leader, and I certainly would not rearrange a meeting, or a camp, for the convenience of one person. It's hard enough to get a venue for a set time on a set day, what with all the other groups and associations also wanting to use it. And all the other kids and parents are used to that time on that day.
Same for camps, only more so; site's booked and paid for, transport's arranged, parents have been informed. Yeah, lady, I'll discomfit everyone else just to keep you happy.
And worse - do it once, you'll have set a precedent, and be doing it forever.

story 1: OMG MIL probily did this to give a middle finger to the bride but glad she got her "just deserts" as op destroyed MIL's dress so she would not be the center of attion!

White wedding dresses are not tradition. Despite everything you've ever been told by your parents grandparents or great-grandparents white wedding dresses are not sacred. It was started by Queen Victoria to show off how much money she had. White wedding dresses only represent that you're rich and you want to flash it in people's faces. Other people wearing white to your wedding is not show of disrespect. In fact that is not mentioned anywhere in any historical document ever. It was created by some random person who decided that they wanted to be the only one wearing white at their wedding. And somehow that got spread through our culture. it is absolutely ridiculous that nobody knows the history of things as simple and everyday as wedding dresses. In other cultures they do not wear white. In Spain the tradition is red. In Greece it's yellow. I could go on, I have in the past because I'm quite passionate about history and in fact that's what I got my degree in. It frustrates me to no end when people think that white wedding dresses represent innocence, purity, sacredness, and other such things. It literally just represents wealth.
