Video games are bad for you, only if you set them as n1 priority. If you play them after finishing your hard work, good for you.

Video games don't, addiction does. Don't let it consume your life like anything else. It seems the only acceptable addiction is fitness.

Too much of anything is never a good thing. It wasn't games that ruined him. That's called addiction & it takes many forms.

Moderate everything. Hobby is just a hobby and everything can be damageing. Stay strong out there.

Gamer here, video games don't ruin life, addiction does
If ur addicted to a game, either quit or just stop playing it that much and try to control yourself

Nah, he didn't play indiegames.

Anyways, videogames aren't a waste of time, it can be seen as an hobby but don't let it consume u and turn it to an addiction.
They are just meant to occupy ur time and bring some entertaintment, not BRING MEANING to ur life.

Video games are fine if you use it appropriately. It’s if most of your day then it’s a problem. Workout, go to work and do what your supposed to do. Playing some games don’t hurt. This a big reason why I play story games. Short and concise compared to online.

Videogames didn't ruin that guy's life, if he did lose oportunities for jobs, that's being lazy.

Blaming videogames for you being addicted to them is the equivalent thing of blaming alcohol when you get drunk.

It’s good to hear that this guy realised what his addiction has done to him and, now, that this might not happen again.

Videogames are fun and a good hobby so you can relax sometimes, but everyone has to be responsible with them, controlling your hobby time and always take care of your health and job.

Like many already said here, its not that games are bad, its just that any out of control addiction will ruin your life

“Video games ruin lives “ people not realizing that the people whose lives are “ruined” never had any goals or aspirations to begin with

Having fun ruined my life. As a man I’m supposed to work nonstop, never take breaks, even when I have a mental breakdown from overwork, gotta keep doing it anyways, or else I’ll never be a high value man, to have the pick of the litter of the 304s I don’t like, for the approval of other dude bros, to become a alpha sigma overlord, god over internet bullshit guru nonsense.

Anything can be too addictive. I used to spend 40hrs a week at a gym at one point....but then again I was getting paid to be

Im currently fighting video game addiction. I keep relapsing, but im taking measures and building systems that are helping me gradually remove myself from games. Used to play ever day, now i play 2 times a week. Been playing since i was 6 years old, so video games have been engraved in me.

I've largely let go of my addiction to videogames not too long ago. Simply because they've gotten boring to me, perhaps. Or because I realized said addiction was a detriment to my life.

But now... now what?

Video Games are perfectly fine as a way to relax, decompress, or spend time with friends but when it's an addiction just like any other addiction it becomes a poison to the self.

Addiction that the problem... Yup the first step is admitting you have it. From there you will fix yourself.
