I feel like you should remake this video now that you've got a bigger following Greg

Ah, throwback to the "squeaky chair" days. Classic.

My dad always worried about having too much salt in our foods, to the point where he stopped having salt in the pasta water and oatmeal (which made it taste like shit). After a ton of complaining and arguing from me and my mom he finally started adding salt to those meals again, but still complaining about how we're eating too much salt. I never stopped using salt, but because of his influence I was worrying about it anyway and how too much salt would affect my health negatively. Thank you for this video Greg, I feel much more relaxed about having food that actually tastes something now.

A wise man once said “everything in moderation”. No difference here.

PS I didn’t even really care about this topic but I could listen to you all day Greg - keep the content coming.

I wish Dr's would remember that potassium is the natural balancer of excess salt in the body.
Well done!

I think it's also the sodium:potassium balance.
Most processed food has tons of sodium and not enough potassium. I've found getting that back in balance fixed things.

Yeah. When I bulk on foods, it's usually processed foods and each 500cals average meal has 700mg-2g sodium. It does help fullness, but u got to keep in mind the water intake too, which is a huge problem for me. The more salt u eat, the more water u better drink otherwise u feel just as bad as removing all ur sodium

sodium is also a key player in the generation of an action potential in neurons. In other words, it is essential for brain function.

I added a tsp of sea salt to my water before the gym and wow, I had such an explosive pump and increased strength! Thanks Coach Greg!

So happy that this man became as successful as he did. Though I gotta say I really do prefer these old vids.

Sodium and Potassium are the yin and yang of the cardiovascular system. You need both. But salt is omnipresent in most foods even before cooking. Potassium is much harder to obtain from a regular diet. When I cook I use Potassium substitute instead of Sodium.

Coach Greg you should do another vid on sodium again. Nothing wrong with this one. But your vids get way more than the 38k views (what this got in a year) in a day . There is so much bs still being thrown around on salt. I think it'd be helpful

Can't agree more... Sodium has never been an issue for me. I've never noticed myself gaining weight from having more sodium on its own, but I think people are missing the point that it's not really the sodium that makes you gain weight but like Greg would suggest the extra calories you're consuming. If you're eating shit every day, high sodium foods like McDonalds and Wendys, of course you're going to gain tons of weight. But the issue isn't "sodium, " thats simply blaming your horrible diet on salt because you're lazy. The issue is you eating extra calories which is making you gain weight and eating foods that make your body retain water, thats what makes you bloated not fucking "table salt" lmao. Great video!

it would be amazing if you (now and then) could return a bit of this style in your current videos.
