WOW. I clicked on this thinking it was gonna tell me to be creative about picking a name but he got so technical and this was very in depth.

I’ve never cared much for the graffiti culture. But I just watched this and started to understand why so many people consider it art. There’s ALOT of thought and process that goes into this. I’m changing my mindset about the dedication it takes to actually be good at this. It’s not just splashing spray paint on a wall.

my close friend vinnie had the tag SIVER he always wrote it in green to be unique he was one of the best graff artists in my city, sadly he past but i still see his throw ups everywhere and memorials from our old crew to honour his talent. The use of his tag in this vid brought back alot of good memories n has motivated me to keep practicing my tags so i can put my own memory peice up for him

My brother had the nickname “Antsy” based on the book “the schwa was here, ” and since he’s passed, I felt it was a good tribute to him. A way to leave his mark all over

I ran with ADIT(always deep in thought) for the longest time then went with IMAGE but hated the G. I did like having 5 letters and the A is a great letter for the middle that’s bold and symmetrical. But hated that G so much that I’m back ADIT. You’re absolutely right on letter flow, letter compatibility and negative spaces.

Never had a real interest in this stuff but always been amazed at some of the graffiti I see on trains and such. Its impressive how something so seemingly simple actually has a lot of creativity and thought put into it. Theres a whole stretch of wall in a nearby city that is a public mural and would love to add something to it.

Kind of tempted to go with Haze as a tag if I ever did, its my nickname (and fits perfectly given that people either see me when I'm high or dissociated mostly) but its too similar to my name so anonymity might fly out of the window.

Amazing video dude. I love the simplicity with the single giant white paper. You really killed it!!! You should def make more of these simple type tutorials!! I wanna see you do a video on how to wild style or maybe how to incorporate characters into burners

I had three different names. Nenek, Enek, Janst. I feel it's simple to move letters and not overlap them. Just have to be creative with the positioning of lines. They all don't have to be capitalized. I love how creative yours are.

I was quite into it as a teen back in the 90' . I ended up quitting cause with all the love and effort i put into it, I often ended with a result that felt off aesthetically. There also was no internet and many other interesting sources you have nowadays to find some kind of explanation as to why i encountered those problems.

As i mostly drew for myself just on paper i wasn't really focused on making a personal grafitti name, but just chose words or slogans i found interesting and tried to put them togheter and make it work. It somehow often ended up of me being either stuck or frustrated.

I do remember that there were letters like the R or K that i absolutely loved drawing and playing with cause the possibilities seemed endless and letters i totally despised. As i'm willing to give it another go after 20 years, your video gave me some new inspiration and i now understand that the letters i despised in the past were the non square ones and the empty spaces around them the cause of it not bing aesthetically pleasing. Thanks for that!

I've wrote different names at different times, lee, flux, loco. Loco is the most recent but ive done shiva and buddha a few times too. I think its good to play arround with different styles and names until find one that really resonates. I think it makes one more creative and a better writer. Much love ❤️

I’m just starting out and holy, this was a great video. The explanation of the box letters and ones with empty space, that really helps. Appreciate it!

This is super helpful! I’m only a beginner cos I lost interest and life etc got in the way. Recently got back into it, scribbling alphabets is boring but the fun is figuring out a name. I’ve got 4 ideas so far. It’s narrowing it down.

Really dived into handstyles this last month and I think I've made significant progress. Picked a new name even, just because I've been using the same one for years, Ash. Still choosing between Sesh and Admin. I love the way the first one writes out. I just hate doing A's.

Been using the name Aether for years. Thought it was pretty different and liked the meaning. The TH combo in the middle was hard for me at first but I stuck it out and got better with those letters.

I never thought about negative space. Love the bottom of your "I" in jirk. Super sweet!

I started with "Goji" and used it for a while, and this was before I learned the main antagonist of Jet Set Radio, a graffiti game, was also called Goji, that, and the fact Goji is hard to pieces for, I changed it.
